I'm just saying that they didn't HAVE to farm this out. It's entirely possible they setup a factory in China for their own composites fabrication. I know if I was trying to retain my intellectual property over there, I would try to keep the manufacturing exclusive to my brands. |

I'm not sure who or how it's manufacutured is really important... H9 has their own design and quality team...
And on top of it, QQ is not going to put his name on a turd. It's interesting to see the progression with QQ and HH. When QQ started with Horizon, everyone was hoping for even better Yak's and pythons... the Beast came out as the next generation, and anyone will tell you that the quality of the Beast is unreal... now they've blown the doors off it with a completely composite Yak! Hopefully this is the first of the composite built airfames from Horizon Hobby. I would expect these to be in the states in the next few weeks and then can really see what it is. |

I think the soft mount is how the dome is bolted on the fuse

But part of the hobby is to optimize things such as weight, rpm, airframe symmetries etc. |

I had a CARF plane where the end of the canister was almost butted up against the front of the fuel tank... never a problem. If you think about it, you can hold your hand almost touching the motor after a flight and not feel the heat coming off of it... just a little airflow will take a lot of heat away quickly. In the composite planes, that airflow is generally allowed to flow around the entire body of the fuse, and comes out under the bottom through vent holes that you cut.

Any HH guru wanna que us in as to if there's anymore large scale composits in the future? I'm sure they are using this as a test platform considering the economy...... Great job HH, at least your composite design is the most current and up to date and not the same old 20 year stamped out, tired old euro scheme......

Well, it looks good! I will be suprized if it flys as good as the 1st gens. Although they weren't known for there longevity. The first ones with the "socalled" wing issues; were the lightest! They were simply awsome flyers!

Thanks my friend! Ocean has given me true peace in the last few years and you are correct, I am super excited about this because I always loved QQ-Yak 54 and always wanted to have the composite version of it. It's like a dream come true for me. So this may change and I become more active and more flying videos on my youtube channel.
I hope you got the Extra dialed in and enjoying it. |
