Re: Real Aircraft

Where do you think the Spacewalker came from? It was an R/C model first then scaled up to manned full scale. A friend of mine built one, it was a really neat plane.

Re: Real Aircraft

Were the model plans blown up and built or was it redrawn from the ground up to still look like the model but in fact have a structure and airfoil appropriate for manned flight?

Flyfalcons,

I knew the moment I saw your avatar YOU were going to be the funny guy. Listen I am asking questions, trying to get opinions and respectfully sir, if you do not have anything nice to say then don't say anything. Frankly, I do not see a problem asking a question and discussing ideas or thoughts. Sir, I hope you have a better day.

Respectfully,

And I knew the moment I saw your question that I was going to be the one letting you know the reality of the situation. My day is already doing great, thanks!

how fun would a 22 ft GP slow poke be! i would fly that!.. in fact a guy in my club had a similar ultalight but hig wing. but as for making one that big for rc,,... why.. build it to fly in, its more fun that way haha. that is how aviation got started folks.. you can bet that every new aircraft out there gets tested as a model first

You know what young man. Your lack of respect for someone you don't even know is terrible. I am simply asking a question, and it is people like you who think they know everything or can say anything to anyone, are the ones that need to realize that it is better to remain silent than remove all doubt. As you get older young man, you will understand that it does not make you smarter or better than anyone to answer a inquiry they way you have. I did not sign up to be disrespected nor did I sign up to disrespect, so I ask you to please take your snide remarks that YOU think are so cool and keep them to your self. Those who say it cannot be done need to move out of the way of the people doing it. Now I guess the forum waits to see what type of a response comes from such an ALL KNOWING person.

I believe the biggest obstacle would be the FAA, I'm not sure but you'd be getting into the realm of USB's.

Pitviper, I am sure it was directed at Flyfalcons.

Barron, come on back. Sometimes you just have to walk around the human debris.

Re: Real Aircraft

I'm sad

Look do you want me to lie to you and say yes? Okay here it is: "Yo Barron, go ahead and take those 4*40 plans, blow em up to a 20 foot wingspan, slap an engine on there and go to town."

There's nothing stopping you from doing this but common sense would dictate redesigning the structure to be more appropriate for manned flight. If this answer is still unsatisfactory for you then you weren't asking seriously in the first place. You were just looking for anyone to say yes.

First off let me say this to Ryan: OUCH, DUDE, he gets the award for calling you as the wise guy just by looking at your avatar!!!!! (or maybe he has been lurking here for awhile!!)

secondly, this one could easily be converted to R/C.......

Regardds,

Flyfalcon, got no problem with your opinion it was the attitude.
With an intellectual, pragmatic, reasonable approach to aeronautical design and structure there is nothing stopping a person from accomplishing what Barron has asked.
