Re: How to perform Rollingharrier

A rolling Harrier is rolling at high angle of attack(high alpha) in a straight line with the wings stalled. If it's a high angle of attack rolling circle, it's a rolling harrier circle. If your doing a fast or slow rolling circles without the wings being stalled, it's a rolling circle.

Re: How to perform Rollingharrier

Thanks for the quick reply Rob

Make's more sense now. one other thing when i watch tutorial videos on the RH they all say try flying in the opposite direction for a humble experience.
Surly when i do a RH to the left, it doesn't matter which direction in the field i am going does it ?

Re: How to perform Rollingharrier

Not at all. When they say "both ways", most of the time they mean learn to roll left and right. Turning in both directions while rolling both left and right is also important. But learning to turn it around to the left and right, rolling lh circles/rh circles while rolling to the left and rolling to the right are crucial to learn to get all the use out of your rolling harrier. It gives you lots of things to blend in while slow rolling. The horizantal figure eights over the field staying down by the grass, the sideways figure eights in front of you going left to right to left....., loops, all that good stuff. Gives you lots of options and will definitely hone your stick skills like you wouldn't believe. Once you goof up enough learning the different rolling maneuvers and fly out of it, you learn to just react if you ever get crossed up or lose your timing without even flinching. It comes with stick time and can really anger you when first starting out, but well worth the practice it takes to get it down.

Are you kidding me!? I've been rocking some foamies to death lately. You can't go wrong with some foamie action. I'm afraid they can be a whole addiction themselves. I'll always have a foamy. I enjoy them as much as my 40+%'ers. In the last two weeks, I've gone completely foam stupid. Bought a couple new kits and now I've been out in my garage cutting my own and trying to learn to airbrush a little. Like an entirely new sickness I tell ya. lol

It is all in the timing of the rudder and elevator inputs to keep it in a straight line. Both manuvers use the same inputs but it is how they are timed that keeps the plane in a straight line or makes it turn.
