I don't think they are in the DA's ball game. I think a more comparable choice between motors are SE,DLA, DLE . The last reading on the 120 was ran at 6190 with a 27x10 prop, then my rpm gauge crapped and started reading zero.

The gauge is do in the mail anytime along with a larger prop so those readings will be posted soon, most are getting 6300 to 6500rpms so kevins rating of 8000 rpms is bogus I think. However I do believe this is one of the better China motors I have flown. I do not have a DA120 or nor have I flown one so I don't know there actual readings other then what I see on there website, nor do I really understand why someone would wanna compare a $1350 motor to a $650.

Merry Christmas guys!

I have one here that came a few day's back, Been busy this week and will do some testing next week.

All I have right now is a Mij 27-10 and 28-10 to test it with.

Do not expect it to put out like a DA 120 but if it out performs the other 111-112 cc China made engines I think it will be a winner for the cost.

It has some of the best looking cylinders I have seen coming out of China and the machining looks great.

But the JC has gained the right to keep flying, until something goes wrong.

The honesty of zi's statement is very pleasant indeed. it might be 500 rpm less. it is also 1/2 the price But he is marketing his product honestly.
I Salute you Zi-Chun Lin and will look seriously at your products.

Picked mine up at the PO today.

Looked her over and I'm impressed with what I'm seeing.

The plane this is going onto once had a Gen 1 DLE-111 on it that had a bearing go bad and is sitting in my garage awaiting the new lower crank case/crank assembly from Tower, AND a 3W-106ib2 that ate a needle bearing retaining pin that destroyed both cylinders and pistons..I had that one repaired and sold it off. With that, I should be able to compare how the plane flys, and how well this engine, once broken in, swings both a Mej 28x10 and a Fuchs 28x10 wide prop.

I also received the RCEXL V2 tachometer to monitor RPM's from Day one.

Regarding the JC EVO 120..

Close external and limited internal examination shows some very nice quality. The exhaust ports are not pitted in any manner, the interior of the cylinders and porting, as viewed through the exhaust ports is nice and shiny with no signs of poor machining. I'm not going to be removing the cylinders to inspect the bore as of now, because I would want to have a complete gasket set for reassembly.

The RCEXL ignition unit is the latest version, having been manufactured Dec 2011
The supplied spark plugs are RCEXL branded and appear to be of nice quality as compared to the generic CM6's as supplied by DLE. For the heck of it, I will be testing out the supplied plugs and then see what difference is made using NGK's.

The mufflers have a shiny "chrome" finish and are very smooth to the touch, contrasting against the DLE matte and rough finished mufflers. How they hold up, time will tell.

I will be ordering in some MTW headers to use with my MTW TD75 cans after the first of the year, so I'll just mount up the mufflers for the initial runs.

Having said all that, enjoy some pics for the time being...
