No one deliberately chooses to do what happened to Mac, but if you fly long enough something similar may happen to you. As I have told others, flying RC aircraft is akin to going to a hockey or baseball game. You have to assume that a wayward puck or foul ball may come your way. These are inherent dangers in our hobby and must be factored in whether you fly alone or in a crowd.

You're absolutely correct ! Without a doubt he pulled a human error and just like all of us have done, made an error. The thing I think that needs to be looked at now is how much distance should be held between the a/c and the spectators . In full scale it would be 500 feet below a given cruising speed, 1000 ft above that speed. Even if you follow that rule it would be hard for some clubs to have enough room to follow that. Face it,the r/c hobby has been extremely lucky in having very little damage to others and property. Sure hope it stays that way ! WP

We need to post a bunch of times right now so we can get a fresh page . Because Mac Hodges is probably tired of watching the crash video above . Crashing sucks especially something that nice .

Man, it's a beautiful day to go flying. Mid-to-low 80's, light breeze, blue skies...Just add Circus!
