Sort of New - From Australia

Hi All,

I have been hanging around here and not posting much, I currently fly ShankBones (got a Raptor 50 V2 and 90 SE), but am picking up a trainer tomorrow. I am pretty excited about learning to fly planes, I was flying planes previously but stopped for various reasons.

Once I am comfortable on the trainer, I am looking at the 40 size Matt Chapman Cap for a 2nd plane, was watching one of the guys at my club flying one, they fly great and land real slow. Obviously my goal is to eventually move upto giant scale, but want to take my time and learn to fly well first.

Simon.

A guy at our club moved from helis to fixed-wing and he loves it.

Now he can really push the envelope without having to worry about a big repair bill if he stuffs-up.

He still flies his heli occasionaly but his latest acquisition is a gaser powered Edge and he's practising 3D with a profile in anticipation.

G'day Simon, careful with the giant scale stuff, you can get hooked pretty quickly.

I fly not to far from Sydney up at Maitland near Newcastle. If your interested in IMAC or giant scale in general give me a bell, I would be glad to help where possible.

Infact if you wanna see a group of large scale aero models all at once we are holding an IMAC comp on 10 Feb (At Maitland), feel free to come and have a sticky.

Re: Sort of New - From Australia

Hi All, I am realy looking forward to getting back into planes. One thing I am realy looking forward to is having a good selection of planes to choose from, with heli's no matter what brand you fly it is still pod and boom and if you go to scale, they are rediculously expensine and just fly around. I will always fly heli's and love flying them, but planes are what captured my imagination in the first place and still do. Don't no why but fixed wing just does it for me and when I see the giant scale stuff, I am in awe of them.

Borries, I am currently flying at SSME at Luddenham, it is a friendly club, but the flying field is very small and there is a chuck farmer directly opposite, so we are very limited ith noise, I would like to find a bigger field that doesn't have space and noise restrictions.

Benny I have marked the calender and will try and make it.

Thanks Ken, I will certainly be taking advantage of the forum, and hopefully one day I might even get good enough to contribute and help newbies like myself.

You guys do a great job on this site.

My favourite threads are definitely the builds threads. It is realy cool to see a giant come together out of some pieces of wood.

No problem Simon!

When you browse around, you may notice there are forums dedicated to the Heli flyer, check them out, there might be some things in there of interest to you.
