Gapple,

Lipos and Li-ions are the same voltage. I've always used Li-ions but am curious at this. You think it is the C rating getting more power when you need it maybe?

What is important is looking at the voltage the battery you choose to use. I hav e checked a large lot of the 1270 servos with specific voltage and the specs Savox published are accurate to 2 percent over the entire lot. I wouldlook more into the voltage your battery produces and the burst power your system will convey. I have set up a 50 cc plane that utulizes HV servos that is set up on a regulator. I have experimented with reguating the voltage and burst on the system. The results were eye opening. The power fed in dramatically affected the feel of the airplane. I would use only high quality 3.7 volt systems that have a high burst rating. Then I would really look at your setup to make sure the erquipment you use are efficient and can deliver the power

Sorry for the slow response as I have been swamped testing servos for Savox......the 1270TG has been put the ringer on my testing rig. It has proven to be a awesome servo... I have two planes now outfitted with the servos and they have been awesome. Its is so disappointing that the flying season in Colorado will slow down a bit as winter has arrived. We got three inches of snow last night. If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM.

Hey bemeson...., I've always been interested in "Savox" servos.
Haven't had the chance to use one yet. I buy servos in bulk and I'm at the end of my "Hitec" stash. Might be a good time to check out the "Savox".
What spline is the output shaft..., Futaba or JR or Hitec? I buy servo arms in bulk as well ....lol!
Are the servos programmable?

The use the standard 25 spline Futaba and they are not programmable. There digitals are second to none and perform flawlessly.

do you think Savox will ever put out programmable servo's? I really like how the hitec's can be programmed, it makes setup really easy. but the Savox are awesome and it would be to me the perfect mix

Sir,
I beg to differ with you. My Fromeco lithium ions charge to 8.4 volts not 8.1 volts.

I can not tell you if they will ever be programable as that has been the undoing of a particular brand.

Ok no problem, The sanyo based cells I have charge to 8.1V. I'll check the cell number. What cells are your Li-ions based on?

The much older Li-ion cells were the lower voltage. However for quite a few years now they have been 7.4 nominal voltage. http://www.fromeco.org/Products/01FRC2600-100/ Im also quite certain they also use Sanyo cells.

I stand corrected on the Fromeco cells, they use Samsung and not Sanyo cells.

Sanyo now make them in 3V, 3.6V and 3.7 variants. I was a bit out of date with these. I assembled many packs with the 3.6V cells. They're very reliable. I have a German built pack that is 11 yrs old and still holds capacity >80%

I can see an issue with those variants is with charging. Many chargers out there do not charge at all those capacities. Many chargers charge Li-ions on the Lipo rate.
