HAAA,, more like maybe ready for the huckfest.. I got ready to start on the rudder today then I got in a few photo orders so after that it was time to head to the field to fly.. like I said when I started this I am in no rush, but let keep build content here. side note I tested the dubro hinges I have for the rudder they fit a bit more snug so I will use those.

The 170cc is the MXS and not the MXS-R. No racing cowling. If we order production 170 model, we'll get the talon tips and cheeked cowl.

welcome to the club. Just a heads or for Jag, you may want to look into thicker cardboard or a stiff board on the outside panel of the boxes. as seen earlier I had a hole inthe box but no damage, Id hate to see that again since it was close to the fuse.. dang those package handlers...

ps, hope to work onthe rudder tonight.

started the rudder tonight, I fought the slots for 45 minits tryign to get teh curved horns through the rudder.. finally got them in. No glue yet, ill do that tomarrow. told yall itll be a slow build... I dont see how you guys finish these planes as fast as you do sometimes..

Never been lickidey-de-split fast for me neither PitV.
Tony and Wally G. getting the BRETLING 50cc together to fly at J.Noll IN TWO DAYS WAS IT? was quite a feat. Cutting cowl, setting up linkages, etc.etc, and all that is so beyond my capabilities.

I'd spent two nights whittling and charging my dremel tool over and over just to get the hole in the cowling right. (must be a trick I've never been taught! )
Don't forget to photo you fun dude!

Ill shoot photos before the glueing, I am wondering if I shoudl use gorilla glue on the hinges, seens to be liked for its expanding glue.. but epoxy has allways worked for me. Keep in mind this is my first from the ground up biuld of a 50cc plane, I got my first as a used RTF I keep promising myself I wont sticker this one up so much. ill get pics tomarrow.

I would go with the epoxy. I know guys who use the gorilla glue, and don't have problems, but I prefer a hard glue over a soft, expanding glue. Use a good 30 minute epoxy ( I like the Zap epoxy ). Mix in a little milled fiberglass or cotton for thickness. Be sure to put vaseline on the hinge pin, and go to town. Heck, with this plane, you don't have but a few to do.
