Thanks guys for the kind words!!
I challenge you to a dual!!!!!!!! My Velox up against your Extra Kidding Bro. I would love to see more of these. If somebody does not get with me soon about some foam cores then I will be building the stabs, wings and control surfaces the good old traditional way!! ribs and stringers..... Anybody know how different a Velox horizontal stab and elevator are compared to a Extra????
Chris

Re: How about a Giant Scale Foamy

OK so I decided to give the stab a shot. its 6mm ribs with 3mm sheeting. the spar is 6mm with a carbon tube attached. I will cut it at the control surface and add balsa triangle stock for my hard point and hinge line. I like it so far. its a bit of work to roll the depron to shape. I'm going to just glue the puppies to the fuse.

Did you heat the 3mm depron, then roll it to the shape?

This was actually such a tight bend I had to do 3 different things. first I placed the depron on the sharp edge of a table, took it and centered the piece of 3mm where my LE is going to be, I then put very slight pressure on the depron making a crease down the center. I repeated this step about 3/4 of a inch from center on both sides of the line, once done I grabbed a wing tube and used my hand to very slightly bend the depron over the tube until it started taking shape. Once I got it that far the rest was messaging the depron to shape. I did not use the heat until the outside ribs were glued in place. once I did that everything fell right into place!

Thank you guys for the compliments.
Chris

Are you cutting all the parts out by hand?
