Bend the top one over 90 degrees first, then bend the bottom one over a steel rule second. The second one doesn't have to be 90 degrees and it does not have to end up flush. A couple of mm will be unnoticable.

Have a look at DA's youtube channel.. I am pretty sure Richo has covered it a few times on his build vid's... 99% sure he covered it on the Sukhoi build video... or the Pitts video...

The 2.6 Extra 300 uses a small wire, not the brass tube for the rudder pin.
Every one I've seen has just been bent.

Yup Richo explained to me the other day how to do it with automotive plugs which I will use on the elevators, but just checking to see how others have done it. More than one way to skin a cat as they say

Easy to just bend it over and wack a sticker or tape over it. I would only bend one end though so you can easily slide it out to bush the phenolic hinge at a later stage once there flogged out.

Yeah that could work too With a plug on the top to finish it off. That way easy to remove to upgrade the horns as Grant said.

The wheel collet is a Sig part and the button on top is a fuel line stopper that I just put in a drill and held a file against it till it fit smug inside the hinge rod, I then just glued it in with thin cyno. The only other thing to do was fit a bit of solid rod inside the end of the hinge tube so it did not squash up when you tighten the collet.

A fuel dot cut shorter does the trick and can be painted too.

For the elevators I went with Richos method. Bought a pack of black nylon xmas tree plugs. They were a bit bigger than needed to got 'em on to the belt sander and popped them in with a dash of silcone to keep them there.
Easy option for the rudder I went with collars top and bottom. Simple and effective. Was going to use plugs but I don't know whats under the surface of that rudder.
Will post pics soon

Thanks for the info guys!

I couldn't trust collars on that rudder hinge pin, I would be kicking myself if one came loose, that steel rod would slide straight out no worries mid flight. Plenty of time to stew it over Royster.
