Help trimming my Machine.

Hey Heli experts..

I finally got to flying my Falcon 3D copter last night at a golf dome.
(Not the first heli I have flown, but the first I have attempted to set up.. I have it on my 12Z and on the ground everything seems to be good)

when finally getting it into the air, I could not get it locked into a hover at all... it seemed like no matter how I attempted to trim it, it would drift..
I'm not sure it was the tail causing it...(ie. not enough gyro) It just seemed like the head was drifting... the tail would hold a true position (toward me), but the heli would drift sideways.. so I would trim it a tad for the other direction and then it would drift that way... I could not find a center area, and I have my trim set to tiny increments!

I understand that hovering takes correction at all times, but this sucker was drifting badly.

Any ideas?

This was all on normal mode.. I had a pretty high rotor head speed, and just under 5 deg of pitch at full throttle, but never really made it there.

Thanks in advance.

You have play or binding somewhere in the servo to swashplate linkage. My guess would be some tight ball links.

I'm bettin like shawn said you have something hanging up. Or its not centering properly. Take the links off the servos, and see how hard it is to move by hand. If there is resistance, there is probably a centering issue. Thats one of the only things that would cause the heli to go sideways.

If you were refering to be in "normal" mode on the Tx, you want that in MIX mode. Hope that little bit helps

Like was said above it sure sounds like tight ball links.
You can either loosen them up or just give them some time to break in.

That sound like pretty low pitch, that is around the pitch you want for hover and around 9-13 degrees (depending on your setup) for full throttle

Even at normal mode?

I had the pitch higher, but it seemed like the head speed dropped a bit.. like enough that I didn't like it.

You need to do some work on your pitch and throttle curves, it sounds like something is messed up there.
Can you post what you pitch and throttle curves are?
