I have a DLA 112 on a 35% Pilot Yak. I installed Bowman rings and it pulls like a tank. It does have the issue with oil leaking around the front bearing, but this does not affect the performance. I'm really interested in the new DLA 128 and would not hesitate a second to buy it (if the price is right).

Yeah, thats great. My 112 was powerful too, and same with the oil spewing out the front bearing. In the end after all that I had gone through with mine, I got a few runs on it using a DLE 111 ignition, and it seemed to run great at that point. Much smoother running, while I did have something to do with that when I rebuilt it, the ignition change I think really woke it up.
Mine was traded to a guy at that point, and I stuck with the DLE 111. Hard to say how it really did, since the guy ended up ripping me off... so I never heard how it went for him.
Really, it seemed like they have done well redesigning them, so it may be that they could be a good motor now. I kinda miss mine, it was a good looking motor, polished up and all. I just had a bad exp.

I know that the DLA name has it's tarnish and yes there were some bad..
I was curious about the newest offerings... They now have the 58cc,64 twin, and 116. They no longer offer the 56cc or 112cc..

SO I bought a 116cc to try.. I can verify the crankcase is now real machined alloy not the old pot-metal with a cnc'd finish.. Check one..

The bearings were genuine IKO, and FAG german mains and crank bearings
check 2

The Crankshaft is not the same crank that every china manufacture uses from yonkkang city it is their own machined billet crank.. Tolerances were near perfect..
Check 3

SO far they seem to be really trying to revamp and make a name.. With those items they have fixed most downfalls of china gassers..

The cylinders are mehh .... same ole' but should hold up as well as other china manufactured cylinders.

I know I am sticking my neck out here but I have had my hands on all of the offereings and I am darn impressed..

Only got 2 gallons through it so I will report back this summer

Aren't the DA cylinders cast in China?

oh boy here we go!
the way I understand it, is the DA cylinders are cast in china.then ship over to DA and they do all the final machining?
if that's true whats the difference as long as DA stands behind them.
god only knows we can't make anything in this country for our self.

^ that's why I only said cast, not manufactured

I have to admit, I want to like the DLA-58 but I want to see a few users give some good reports. Cant find many reports yet.

Not sure. I thought tawain? Thing is Anything can be farmed out to be produced anywhere.. Quality depends on who is behind it.. And we all know DA has their specs and QA so without a doubt they could be made anywhere and DA wil darn sure make sure they are right

Taiwan not China. There is a huge difference. Unless you're just a shmuck and were trying to insinuate DLA (or any other Chinese offering) was anywhere in the ball park of DA quality. Luckily, so far no one has stolen the cylinder design or molds for their own use. Not so much the rods.
