Fromeco or Duralite

It’s time to replace batteries. Flight packs and ignition packs. 35% and larger aircraft. Has anyone with experience using Fromeco Li ION and Duralite Li ION found any differences? Good or bad experiences with either? Anyone found they are getting longer service from or the other?

I have been using Fromeco since they day they started. Always had the best customer service. Never had a product go bad (that wasn't my fault) They have replaced batteries for me that I drained too far, at no charge. Kurt and Mike run a first class business and their products are the Best.
Go with Fromeco, you wont regret it.

I agree also. I have nothing but great theings to say about those guys, alwasy been very helpful. I'm not interested in changing brands, we were sitting around talking about the price difference between the two and nobody in our group could come up with a reason. Thought maybe someone here could.

Just checked both web sites and I don't really see any significant price difference between the 2. Fromeco 2600 LiIon was $34, Duralite EXB 2600 LiIon was 38.95 and already has a balance tap installed. If you add a balance tap to the Fromeco I think it is a couple of bucks extra so they are very close in price if you compare apples to apples. Duralite also sells batteries with a balancer built into the pack and they are more expensive.

I've used both Duralite and Fromeco and have received good service and good products from both for pretty much the same price.

Fromeco is the best. Kurt and Mike are awesome and will help with whatever you need. They always strive to have the highest quality battery cells. They don't go to a second rate cell. I have never had to worry about a balance tap on my Li-ion packs. Flown many of hundreds of flights without every using a balancer.

Between the two..
I use both. Have absolutely zero issues with either.

However, if you need it now, go Duralite
If you need it in two weeks, go Fromeco.

This is based on my experience when ordering directly from Fromeco and a couple buddies who have done the same.

May I say if you need someone to pick up the phone Monday-Friday that would also be Duralite!

Yeah we are slow as piss, something we admit to anyone if asked. However it is not because we are going slow. It is because currently it is just Mike and I running the shop.

In order to get all the orders out world wide, Direct customers, Hobby Shops, Dealers takes a lot of work. See,, with our gear, every single item you can buy from us, with the exception of the plugs, is built by us, by hand. Everything! Every grain of rice that you see on a circuit board is put there by us. After a product is built, whether it be Battery, Switch, or Regulator it is then individually tested. It would be a whole lot easier if we could just pull components out of a box and slap a logo on there and send it out the door. That is not who we are. So we are little slow. Actually manufacturing the product vs reselling it as your own are 2 completely different things.

So yes there are some days that we do not answer the phones. Since it is just Mike and I this could be caused by a Parent Teacher conference or the fact that we Running our Production Robot, or Production Ovens. One thing we try to do is call everybody back that calls. I have called receptionists countless times in offices due to a numbers that return to a central trunk. I say, “This is Kurt with Fromeco did you call us?” and they go huh? I then state. “Do you know anybody there that flys remote control planes?” Usually this gets me to the right person. I know we can be hard to reach at times, but we are here, and we do try our best to get back to you if we missed you.

My opinion on who makes the best batteries? Hands down, that’s us. I may be a bit bias though. :-)

Kurt,

Much appreciated honesty from a respected hobby brand.

Anxiously awaiting my DX-8 battery and current meter.
