125" Extreme Flight Extra 300 V2 Build

I just purchased a V2 125" Extreme Flight Extra 300 and either going with a DA-200 if I manage to find one in the next few days or go with the DLE-222 that's on my 126" Slick. I have already cut 2" off the motorbox to accept either the 200 or the 222. I have a question about the motor offset. It came with a 15/32" stock offset, but with 2" further back than the stock 8" from firewall making it a 10" from firewall to prop hub center, what will be the additional amount of offset?

I've got two V1 EF Extra's both have chopped motor boxes, my primary has a DLE 222 and the backup has a NIB DA 200 going on it. I can check the measurements on both tomorrow and let you know?

Cheers,
TJ

I already cutted mine, but I will receive the new firewall wood today, I will appreciate the info too. Are you going to use aluminum angles to attach the new firewall?

Regards
Memo

Here is after cutting 2". I plan on using tri stock around the front side of the firewall and on top and bottom on the backside, even know I believe the tri stock on all four side of the rear would be enough I think I'm going to go with aluminum L stock on the rear sides. I made some replacement pieces for a shortened access panel, and had to split the bottom ply of the motorbox to allow the firewall with the tabs fit in.

Hey Kelly, I'm going to be following this thread as Jase picked his up at the same event! We are going with the DA-200 in ours. Looking forward to your build

I also split the bottom ply on the motorbox to allow the spreading of the side of it to allow enough space to get the tabs on the original firewall to go in.

1 of 2 ways,,, draw up some lines on a sheet of paper with the original measurements and then draw another parallel line 2" behind the original firewall line for the extra offset measurement,,,

or the old school way.

Put the engine on the bolt hole template first and scribe the 4 cross lines with a "tick mark" where they meet onto the engine mount.

Hang the plane up on a fence or on a tall ladder or up on a wall and place the engine on the firewall then install cowl and with the spinner backplate installed position the spinner backplate to the cowl. Best to have a friend help you as it will take a few iterations of shifting the engine around to get it just right. Those marks you initially made on the engine mount, transfer those marks onto the firewall and then line up those marks with the bolt hole template. Drill holes

I like the idea of the first method best, sounds more accurate.
