Foamy for Park 300 outrunner?

Hey guys, I just bought and assembled a Tensor 4D with a park 300 outrunner on it. The plane is alot of fun but the ground and gravity seem to keep damaging it . It wont be long before I'll need a new airframe. Just wondering if anybody had any good Ideas for a 3D foamy for this motor.

thanks for the help,
Paul

The Eflite Extra 260 is a good one. I trashed mine and bought one of the cheap Hobby Lobby Yak 55's. They are really cheap. You can tear them up all day for the price. I bought a few at once for around 15 bucks a piece.

wttger42, I was considering the 260 until I saw the price of the Hobby Lobby yak thanks to you, but is the 300 outrunner enough power for 3D and hovering the Hobby Lobby Yak? Thanks for the advice.

Does anybody know about the 35" profile yak 54 from Ikarus, and would the 300 outrunner be enough power?

The park 300 would be a great motor for the Ikarus yak. I have one with the park 250 at 125 grams (~4.3 oz.) but with the 300, you would have good performance up to about 7 oz.

Yeah it is but the 300 doesn't have that much power to ring out the potential in this plane. I use a Park 400 in mine and absolutely love it. It's perfect for at the field or in the backyard. I had to buy a second one after a mid air though.

Well i bought the E-flite 260 and flew it with the 300 outrunner, 8 X 3.8 APC prop, 11.1V 800mAh battery, and the planes ways 9.5 ounces, Yet it doesn't have enough power to hover even on a full charge. what gives?

Try going to a 9x4.7 and see if it makes a difference.

Does anyone know if 9.5 oz is too much for the 260. The box says 7.5-9.5 oz flying weight but that might not be acurate. Just wondering if anybody had one I could compare weights with?

That does seem a little heavy for the 300... I've never owned the 260, but a few of my friends have,
and they were getting the weight down to 5 and 6 ounces with the battery. Of course, they were
built that way for indoor flying too. Are you doing most of your flying outside or inside?
I have another yak foamy i just finished witha 36 1/2in wingspan, and the total weight is 9 3/4 ounces.
Thats a big foamy that doesnt weigh very much, but i have the 370 outrunner on it. its got killer
power!

I do all of my flying outdoors, but this morning, I decided to check the throttle travel adjustment. It was at 48 %. I put it at 100 % and now it has tons of power to do anything. Simple fix. Oh yea, if you can put spoilerons on it they make the harrier even more stable than it was!

Holler, that is much too heavy IMO for that airplane...... Drop to a 460-480mah pack and drop the weight significantly.

The 300 does really well on airplanes up to about 7ozs RTF, but above that, it struggles......

As for the pack size, don't sacrifice flying quality for duration. Would you rather fly a crappy flying airframe (heavy) for 10 mins, or a great flying airplane for 6 mins?

I must agree the 300 is the only E-Flite product I have had I didn't like. I have a $10.00 chinese "blue" CD Rom motor that puts the Park 300 to shame. I tried every pack and prop I could find on the 300 and it barked like a dog on everything.
