Mike's getting ready!

Mike Wilson showed up with some cleaner and wax to "spit shine" his plane and get the bird droppings off the planes.

Slick!

Got the 89"slick out and put a couple flights in on it! What a "puppy" to fly! Also put a little graphics to spruce it up. Looked to "Plane Jane"!

Mike's Flight!

That was a cool video. First you took off your RC quadcopter and set it on hover at a nice altitude. Then you put the transmitter down on the ground. Then you get the other transmitter to the little Beast and fly it around in front of your self hovering quadcopter. When you got done flying the beast, you land it. Then you pick up the transmitter to the quadcopter and bring it in for a landing.
Pretty cool. Must say, I haven't seen that done before by one person!

Good thing that quadcopter stayed hovering in that spot while you were flying around. If somethig would go wrong with the gps and gyro, you could have lost it.

I just found out about this field. I've been flying for a little over ten years now and I've mostly been flying with the Greater Pittsburgh ARCS and occasionally at the SPARKS field in South Park. This field is only ten minutes longer for me than it is for me to get to the ARCS. When will people be here? Is it ok for me to come fly with you guys and check your site out?

The old ARCs field. I learned to fly RC there back in 1977. I have flown twice at Missed Approached field. Nice field, great people. Just watch out for the owner.

The ARCS have a newer field now that was moved further into Hillman State Park in the 80s or 90s. It's nice but club attendance their has dwindled and I hate flying alone.

Looking at Google Earth, it looks like the same spot as the late 70's, just a different layout of the runways.

Stop by and bring some planes. We fly every evening, even in the rain.
You can google the address:

1007 Bentleyville Rd.
Charleroi, PA 15022\

Don't be afraid of all the signs going up the road to the field!

Mike, No apology necessary. Enjoyed the one day we were there. You need to get my brother out there with the glider I left behind. Just maiden my 100cc Pitts M12. Flys pretty good. Hope to see you again next year. The only problem I have now is the wife keeps bugging me to get her one of those DJI Phantom Quadcopters.
