Yak54 Vs. Extra330. Which to get? Help my Build Please.

I'm new to gasoline. Been flying Glow for about a couple of years and would like to step up to one.

I've decided I want no smaller than 30%. I don't know why, considering it won't even fit in my car. But I feel it's the prefect size, and Peak Models versions are in my budget.

The Engine I've decided on the DLE-55 which comes with the combo.

Now There are three models that I have really been eying from Peak.

1. Their new Version 3 Yak54 with all carbon goodies etc. $879

2. Their Version 2 Yak54, slightly smaller wing, aluminum goodies (tube is CF). $779

3. Lastly, Extra 330S, aluminum goodies (tube is CF). About the same size as option 1 Yak. $779

My Needs: I want a plane that is stable in the air, can fly slow (if I need it to). Doesn't have to be very aggressive, but would like to do some acrobatic. 3D capabilities would be nice (which of the about would be good for 3D?).... Waterfalls, flatspins, lomchevoks, When I get to that level.

So of the three options above. which would you do? Is option 1 approvements really worth the extra $100? You can see the difference between version 2 and 3 yak when you click on the first link.

Would like to order soon. Just am confused on which of the three.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Well I think that you are doing right by getting a 30% as your first gas plane. I prefer the Yak over the Extra for various reasons. The Yak for me is the best plane for 3D and slow fly, truly is designed to fly slower than the wich I find usefull. It is also more stable on the 3D manuvers than the Extra and the Yak 55M is even better than the 54. So my choice would be the Yak 54 between it and the Extra. Now from the num 1 and 2 I would prefer spend an extra $100 and have a plane wich fly's better. Once you get it as you liek it you truly wown't think of those $100 extra.

Blue or Orange? haha.

I'm leaning towards orange for the ease to see.

Blue sky's and white clouds, Not sure if I want to match that with a Blue and white plane.

but the Blue looks nice and i like blue.

I hate being in this spot.

Blue is my fav color but the orange look's much nicer on this scheme and as you said you can see it better in the sky than the blue. This is more to liking now than beter and not lol.

Ordered the Orange Version 3 Yak. Goal is 15.5lbs completed (without fuel). Should be easily do-able considering the frame with all acessories and engine, muffler and ignition are 13.4lbs. That leaves me with about 2 lbs of headroom for servos, batteries, cables, prop etc.

Will start build thread once I get the stuff .

Decided to go with the 9150MG Turnigy/Power HD servos.
