I again spoke with Dennis last weekend about the Ultimate. He has toooo many things on the burners and trying to keep up with production. With the recent balsa supply issues he has been challenged with keeping top quality balsa on the shelf. So another kit in the mix at this moment would be another challenge. He has not abandoned the plane but just back burner to simmer a little longer. Keep the faith, it will happen at some point. I also have a 150 that needs a good home and am patiently waiting.

Is there even a second prototype? If you read the flight report from the first one it kind of leads me to believe that there was one built but I could be wrong about it. I know he has a lot going on with trying to keep up with balsa and all, so I would rather not bug him about it because he knows that we want one! If I had my rathers I would want them keep the quality in what they have before strechting them selves out with another project to keep up with.

Yes. Scratch built Ultimate 20-300, 42 percent scale.

Hey Guys, the ultimate on page 61 is not the actual Carden kit. Dick and Don did build the prototype a couple years back. As you all read the test flight report on the Carden site, it had issues. Dennis has not gotten back to the Ultimate redesign and until further notice is on hold. I believe the Ultimate that you see in Model Aviation is a scratch build most likely using remnants of the prototype and their own efforts.

I want a Carden Ultimate for Christmas !!!! Come on Dennis lets Git-R-Done. Rich Mowery (a true craftsman, RICH M here on flying giants ) is finishing my 40% Extra 300. He needs another project !! I can only imagine how freaking awesome it would actually be.

All true, I have a million pics I am gonna post up a thread showing his work, its absolutely amazing. He would kill a Carden Ultimate, Hopefully Dennis puts one out !!!!!
