Just finished the build on my Zero after a lot of mods. I put an electric start on it, I'm running 4 batteries and I moved all the tail servos onto the radio tray. I also added a 1/8 inch ply cowl ring to hide the cowl screws. The retracts are ESM V3 from a Bearcat. The only servo in the tail is a mini for the tail wheel steering. After all that I still had to add 1lb 7oz of weight to the nose to balance it a 150mm! It comes in at 19lb 7oz. Motor is a DLE55 RA. The electric start added 1.1 lbs. here are a few pics.

Hello, everyone.... Been a while since I've been back on this thread. I still have my zero in a box, but am finally putting her together after a year or so. I have a couple questions.


A) Does anyone Have ideas for making a cover/insert for the wheel/retract space? Once you cut out the wheel well for larger, 4.5" wheels? Or is just keeping it bare ok?


B) If I'm using 4.5" wheels... what size tail wheel would be recommended?


C) Suggested Fuel tank size?

I am in the middle of my build and I have one side of the wing done with the retract wheel wells. I did a custom myself and I worked out great. I would like to discuss this with you over the phone as it would be much more efficient over the phone.

I also want to know how you plan to attack certain steps as well.

Hi everyone! After having this bird in a box for YEARS now I am FINALLY building her. I got my Retracts installed , went with Century Jet, and I have a DLE55 rear exhaust.

So I ended up cutting down my Motor box so I could keep my engine carb fully exposed and not have to deal with cutting standoffs. Now I am trying to line up my motor box onto the front of the zero's fuse BUT the fuse has no hash marks like I've seen in other build pics and I believe the build diagram says that there should be. !!! I do have hash marks on my motor box..just not the fuse? the box hash marks do not center around the small circle in the fuse correct?? or do they?

Can anyone perhaps send me measurements in reference to the small fuse hole center to create my own hash marks?? WHAT TO DO?

Here's a question...I have an extra16oz fuel tank, would running 32oz of fuel in front be to much of a weight change from full to empty during flight ??

I picked up one of these planes "built but never flown"
Does anyone have a set of used retracts they would part with?

Long time ago since the last post.

Got the Zero last year very cheap and fell in love with her size...

I will build it up maybe next fall but allready collected most of the parts it will take for it. I’ll go with a saito fg60r3 which waits it the box...

Landing gear should be electric but does not know which one right now.
The zero also will get some more scale details as out of the box. If it keeps more time to build, I dont care...

Let me know if there is anyone else with this model at the monent!?
