I've been looking at taking it on the road, as I've received a lot of inquiries about it. Stay tuned, and I should have some more info available soon.

Re: AERO-U

hey guys... keep the info comin' on the actual accomplishments. a couple buddies and i are seriously considering this course and i would love to hear about more specifics. would it be anti productive to have a couple different skill level pilots in the same class or should all 4 of us be at the same level? believe me, in this group we are all either basic or sportsman level flyers..... any and all info would be appreciated.

thanks guys! congrats on graduating from AERO-U!!!

I agree, as the "bottom feeder" in the class I actually learned a lot by listening to Frank talk to Mark and Mike as they flew. I could see them make a mistake and hear Frank correct them. I also found myself looking at their stick as they flew sometimes. This helped me learn what I was doing wrong on certain things.

This is really individual instruction. As with anything you will get out of this what you put into it. I have not had a day go by so far without thinking about various lessons learned. Last night I was sitting in front of the computer and found myself picking up my stick plane and going through the sequence as if I had the same wind as we had over the weekend. I was simply thinking about what the plane looked like with the wind correction applied.

Believe me, I don't care how good a pilot you are, you will come away from this course with a lot learned.

Steve

I agree, I learned as much listening to Frank talking to Mark and Steve as I did myself.
Funny thing is I have been watching Mark fly that 1st manouver in unlimited for months and could not see or help him make it better. After Frank gave him a few pointers I could see a major improvement in no time.
I would have liked to spend a day with Frank on each manouver in our pattern.
The two days are gone before you know it.

First of all Frank is a first class guy. We met years ago when I became the infamous "Fireball" the next year Frank was flying my 43% Geoff Combs airplane for the noontime demo at the Joe Nall at Pats house when the covering blew off the entire wing.

aka "Fireball"
I remember those incidences.....

Having different guys flying different classes is an advantage. It does a couple of things.

1) The sportsman guys get the opportunity to see some of the upper class maneuvers being flown with positioning, which helps make things easier for their own. A loop is a loop, even though some elements may change during it.
2) The upper class pilots then get a "refresher" of sorts to remind them of some of the basics that they may have forgotten, as well as the natural tendency to pitch in and help when needed!

I agree, well put. I have to remind myself about the basics all the time as that is the foundation the maneuvers are built on.
I have had great weekends flying with Frank and always learn a bunch.

Re: AERO-U

The second school is this weekend!!! Beautiful weather, low 80's expected and lots of flying. There is still an opening to get some work in before the IMAC season gets underway here in the midwest.
