I fly the blue and white version. Looks great up close. But it doesn't jump out visually at a distance. I have been thinking of adding graphics to mine. Maybe something with reflective print.

Looks like a nice Pack. You can add a single smartfly switch with dual inputs to turn it off when not flying. I would use two if were me, but one may be enough. I always use two receiver packs on my gas planes. Weight is not enough to even notice. I use two Thunder Power 1900mah receiver packs plugged into a Smart Fly Power System Sport Plus. One 1900mah receiver pack on the ignition. Used to use two Fromeco 2 cell Li-ion 2600mah packs before switching to Lipo's. Cory |

I went with the following setup on my SHP, I wanted to keep it relatively simple:
- Two 2s 1550mAh LiPos -> Fromeco Wolverine switch (2 Deans in, 3 JR out) -> all 3 plugged direct to Futaba R6014HS receiver - 4.8V NiMh pack for ignition with a Smartfly optical ignition cutoff I debated between LiPo and LiFe, but went with LiPo since my radio gear can handle 2s, it just meant I had to spend an extra $30 to get a HV throttle servo (which I would've spent anyway on the LiFe packs themselves). I was also tempted to use 3s packs and put BECs to regulate to 7.4 or 8.4V, however that would require two expensive BECs (or a battery sharing switch that can take 3s). Where do folks buy their NiMh packs nowadays? I'm having a hard time finding a 1000-1500mAh 4.8V NiMh pack, everywhere seems to only have the 2000+mAh sizes which are really heavy or 6V packs. |

For the rudder is a 278 in/oz servo enough? I am planning on the Savox SC-1256TG for elevator and ailerons but on sure if that is okay for the rudder.

Anyone know if there is sufficient ground clearance on the 87" SHP for a 24" prop?

I think it comes with a 20oz tank. I'm going with the 16oz 4titude tank on mine, hopefully I get decent flight times. There should be plenty of clearance for a 24" prop, that is what's recommended for the 60.

I need to get my servo arms ordered and I have a question for the rudder arm. Is it better to use the straight arm or the offset? I have always used the straight up to my 71" Slick with no problem but to be honest I don't know what benefit either has. I refer to the offset as the bottom two.

Do the offset one. Works good on mine.

I started working on my plywood spacers mount for my DA-60. I used Scotts suggested 6-3/4" distance in the manual (6-spacers) but it looks like there are still parts of the carb that will stick out past the mount requiring a cutout into the plane motor box. Is this what others found on mounting their DA-60 to the SHP? Any pictures of the cutout you made? I was just thinking of using a hole saw to cut/drill through.

Here's a few pics my buddy took of my bme 58 equipped 3dhs extra. I really love this plane!
And it flies as good as it looks!

What is the quality of the supplied fuel tank for long term? I like the way it mounts but I am undecided if I should use the Fiji water bottle which seems so popular. Not a lot of weight savings in this 50cc size so it's about durability for me.
