Futuba 12z or JR XG11

I'm just getting back into the hobby and need a new radio. I just purchased a 89 AJ slick with a DLE55. Now I need a radio. From what I got off the websites, it seems the JR has more options. I do like the look of the JR and I like the screen. would love to hear from people who have used both and there thoughts. And anyone who has experience with either one there thoughts. I also have a bunch of electric foam planes.

Thanks in advance

If you are starting new, then the Futaba 14sg is a fantastic radio for only $600. The programing is very user friendly and flexible. Futaba's freqency skipping system is the best on the market with over 20+ years of proven experience and no sperate receivers needed. The 14sg offers Sbus and the "fastest" modulation system. Also, the software can be upgraded free by downloading the updates off of Futaba's website.

Havent messed with the 14 but i do have the 11X. It has a lot of capabilities and with the free software update, it have even more. Fully assignable switch's, 7 dual rates on any switches you want, the option of power safe receivers so no power system is needed. In fact, a power safe receiver is cheaper than a standard reciever and a good isolation switch. DMSX frequency hopping protocol seems to be really robust also.

If u mean me. I have 2. I don't know how. I just don't remember I had one and created another one. I'm just getting back into flying. And my work computer had saved my login info awhile back. So I didn't fix it. I don't want to lose my post yet.

Since all of these protocols are proprietary and nobody has the million dollars worth of lab equipment to test them, you can argue about this forever. Additionally, the WiSpy "spectrum analyzer " is total crap and you should ignore any reviews based on it. They are just marketing. There is some rudimentary information in the FCC type acceptance database. If it works for you, don't worry about it.

I have an XG 11 and love it. Can't comment on Futaba as I don't have experience with it.

I don't know if you are still looking, but I have a 12Z with a couple batteries I am considering selling if I can get a decent price for it.

I can do this for it too:
