Most people are using the DA120 then the DLE111. I run a 120 in mine and two of my friends do as well. Can't beat the 120 for power.

Will it mount right up with my 3w bolt pattern? I was thinking I read some where that the motor had to be mounted at an angle as the plugs were hitting the cowl.

3w sucks........oh no i didnt..........i wished i could get one that ran worth a darn...get a dle111 or a da 120, or even a da 100 will out work the 3w you got now. best money spent is the dle though.

about the push pull or pull pull. i have the 37.5% pilot edge, dle w/stock muffs, and a push pull servo in the rear. i purchased it this way, and have flown it a couple times. it is rediculous tail happy. it fly super high alpha and most 3-d maneuvers very well, but soon as you get some speed and want some precision, you might aswell just throw down the radio. you aint gonna have an easy time doing both types of flying with this setup. i have yet to move the cg forward, but plan to go to pull pull soon, should settle this edge down nicely and let me execute both 3-d and precision in the same flight.

Bummer, my 3w runs like a champ. It fires on the fourth or fifth flip every time and I never have to touch the needless. I will say the carbs are touchy. It's amazing what a 1/16th of a turn on the low or high speed needle will do. I hate to replace her but I'd like a little more power.

Yes. Search this thread. I think pages 19-25 has some good info as well as other pages.

Not sure if the bolt patterns are the same. DA,DLE are the same. The left spark plug spark on the DA120 just touches the strip of wood on the cowl. Lightly sand a notch on the wood and it clears just fine.

3-W has a different bolt pattern if you going to use something different get a wood dowel and epoxy it in the hole and Redrill holes that you need, it's a peace cake. If you have money for the DA 120 get it you won't regret it.
2nd choice DLE 111 The 3-W 100 If you got a good motor use it I had one and it ran strong. I got rid of it only because like you said tuning the thing is very sensitive and i'm not a big fan of that.

Did you guys drill holes in the bottom of the cowl to get to the lower mounting screws or can it be done from the top?

Pilot will not sell the Chief exclusive color schemes direct to US customers..... May not be the best situation for you right now, but I appreciate them respecting dealer agreements.... That and we can get parts, lot better situation than the thread I just was reading... I bet you would still get it pretty quickly.

So..... back to my original question..... anyone know how long of push-pull rod I need to order?

Thanks
TJ[/QUOTE]

Hi Trent,
Sorry to hear of your boo boo.
What you need is neighbor like mine, he has a lathe and could make up push rods and also put bearings in wheels too.
Another option would be to buy a 4.5" turnbuckle an place the servo about 4.5" away from the rudder horn.
