Zenoah Z450PU

Hello all, Im new here been reading for sometime now, Just now got around to registering . I recently traded for a extra 300 patty wagstaff 33% equipped with a zenoah 45cc engine. Im needing a little help with the spark plug selection. from what I'm seeing the book calls for champion RCJ7Y . I have purchased one of these but the spark is weaker than the plug I have in there now which is a D something champion the letters about gone its a smaller insulator plug.

Anyone have any suggestions ? If Im to use the RCJ7Y then I will have to work on the spark as it is orange/red but blue with the older smaller plug . any help is greatly appreciated thank you
Ray.

RDJ7Y is smaller and shorter, might not fit the plug cap...
Any spark at all will run the engine...
If it ran with the old one why change it ?
If it ain't broke........

thank you antique for the reply, I have not got it running yet .. but im almost there I just wanted to replace the plug for good measure I guess.. Im saying the smaller plug has very blue spark opposed to the correct one sparking red / orange . that brought me to question on the correct plug .. so basicly the smaller plug firing as good as it is will be ok no matter the numbers ?

thank you antique, So one more quick question if you don't mind sir, I have discovered the r means its a resistor type plug that would explain the weaker spark. and why the D plug was so healthy firing . Do you pay attention toe R plugs for radio interference ?

Ray, what is the wingspan and weight of your Extra? The engine sounds small for a 33% bird.

That is a 25% not a 33%. Power should be fine.

All gassers with unshielded spark plug wires need a resistor plug...The CM6 plugs are not resistor and all those use shielded spark plug wires...
Zenoah and Quadra magneto engines have been used for over 30 years with no shield on the plug wires..Still are....
