Re: The NEW H9 SUKHOI IS OUT

there's a pic on the front page:

http://www.horizonhobby.com/

maybe they accidentally removed the product page... $1400 with Spektrum 6030 servos is not what I'm interested in.... an 85 sized ARF for the same price as the old one could terrorize my credit card.... or one with Hitec servos... (possibly)

That is one beautiful looking machine.

But like others have said, why does H9 and Great Planes make these inbetween odd-ball size planes? Are they hoping you buy their brand of glow engine for them (example GP`s performance series Extra, Cap, & Edge)?

And how much of a choice of power plants do you have for this one?

I think a smoother running twin is the only way to go over 50cc displacement, thats why the 85cc market is not taking off, but that arguement is on here some where else.

Still, a sweet looking bird though, and you know it will fly awsome.

Re: The NEW H9 SUKHOI IS OUT

I flew Mike's a few weeks ago, and it flies awesome!

I was able to see the airplane as it comes out of the box in the office one day and was very impressed. The airplane is very well built and has a lot of really useful features. I don't see what the issue is with Spektrum servos being in the airplane, they perform fantastic. I don't know what they would be giving up to Hitecs, nor do I understand why anyone would think that we would stick a competitor's brand servo in one of our products.

Also, we've been having a few website issues at work; I think that is the culprit for the airplane having gone live accidentally.

Does it come with only 1 6030 per aileron and 1 on the rudder? If so is that enough power?

I prefer to run Hitec servos, and Horizon Hobby is a Hitec distributor... If you check out your website, you will find various Hitec products.

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=HRC37950S

Besides, I don't want to buy a product with servos that I will replace anyways... waste of money, no matter how great they are.... I want to use Hitec servos and will not be buying a plane with anything else...

My question is will the plane be sold without servos?

p.s. not trying to get into a servo brand war...

Chris,

I realize that we carry Hitec products but they are not a proprietary brand. I believe we also carry Aitronics, but since I'm at Old Chicago typing this on my phone, it's going to be a bit of a pain to get on FastServe and check. I am not sure if this airplane will be offered without equipment or not. Aerodynamically, it's the same as the Sukhoi that's been on the market for a year or so now, it just has a new color scheme and some construction changes, as well as the equipment being installed at the factory.

I'm 99% sure that's the setup that was on Mike's airplane when I flew it. I can't imagine the prototype having more servos than the airplane will be offered with. That being the case, I didn't notice any blowback during the flight that I put on it. Mike beats on the airplane really hard and hasn't broken anything on it or stripped any servos yet.

cool! I look forward to a more in depth announcement... If it is for sale without servos, I will likely purchase one. If not, I will buy something else...

Have fun in Chicago!
