what pump to fill??

What fuel pump is good for gassers? I have been using an electric on glow but they only seem to last a couple of months. Are there any quality gas pumps? What brand manual pump will be reliable??

I've been using a Hanger 9 hand crank pump for years. Work really well and last forever.

If you're not comfortable with electric around gas and don't like to cranck 250+ cranks per fill, this is the one I bought and recommend:

Go to ACCESSORIES and then

Go down to Electric Fuel Pumps

This is the one I use and works great.

250 cranks doesn't sound too bad when all your out is $12.00

At $350.00 it makes Abell cans look cheap.

I'm not cheap and have most of the toys but damn, That biatch better do more than fill my tank

Innovative I'll give it that!

Definately not for every pilot but he said he wanted a reliable one. This one will last me a life time and you can't get any safer in my opinion. (I've seen one that was backed over by a truck. Didn't leak a drop.)

Haven't been to an Imac or funfly in years where I haven't seen a plastic container swelling in the sun.

I've spent more that $350 replacing perfectly good servos for the newer latest and greatest ones. The things we do/buy for the love of our hobby! (Just don't tell my wife )

For gas, the Dave Brown is way too hard to turn and has no place to grab onto it. One day at the field struggling with the thing was enough. I got the Hangar 9 hand crank and it fills easy and quick for $12. Put the other $338 into the plane.

Re: what pump to fill??

I've been using squeeze bulb pumps, one for gas and one for smoke fluid. Picked up two at my local hobby shop about 10 years ago......Each one came with a 1 gallon tank and hardware. I made sure I marked the tanks "smoke" and "gas". I remember when a guy at the flying field spent 30 minutes trying to start his G62 with smoke oil......LOL.

Seems real reliable, but my hand does get a little sore from squeezing that bulb.
