It has been a long week of building and auto repair's on my wifes car. I decided to redo the bottom of the cowling. There was a sharp corner that I just did not like. I de-planked the sides and put in another former and re-planked it. I then glassed the top on the inside of the cowling. The receiver tray is now built and lightened. You will notice some little holes in it. They are for the zip ties to help secure the wiring in for a clean harness. I cored out the elevators and rudder. Each elevator is now weighing in at 3.6 oz and due to the carbon fiber the rudder is weighing in a little heavy at 7.2 oz. I am still hitting my goal numbers. The cowling as of now weighs 1 lb 15 oz. I still need to glass on the bottom of the inside and take out all of the shaping formers and then I will add the scoop.

So life has decided to throw me a couple of adventures that are going to take me away from my building for a while. I was injured at work yesterday resulting in 2 herneated disc's in my back. I had a goal of finishing this by Feb. 15th because of a planned surgery I am having on my legs on the 16 th. Thanks to my back that is not going to be possible I will post anything I can get done while I nurse these issues of mine. Don't give up on me yet.....

Oh man.. sorry to hear this. But toy airplanes and FG will be here. And with the quality of your build the interest in your plane will be here as well. Get yourself better. Planes.. you can make again, health you get 1 shot.
Good luck with everything you have coming up, and we will see ya back healed up and ready to roll! |

I have been able to make a little progress this week. Today I was finally able to weigh everything and the results are awesome. It is 22 lbs 1.8 oz. This number is including landing gear, wheels and wheelpants. Now I am going to move on to the fine details before the finishing work.
