Hey Jimbo (Milligan), I see you lurking around here. Are you coming to the GMRF 3D Fest? What about you Sebastien? Is it still winter up there?

Only 10 days!!!

I won't make it this year. I am currently sponsorless and need to cut on expenses quite a bit.
I guess I should work more...lol

Just renewing my passport as of last week so it should get here pretty soon. I am planning for Westport which is much closer for me. Are you going there?

As for winter, its long gone, they were cutting grass here for the 3rd or 4th time already today. It was very hot and my A/C has been running for over a month now

We've got my brother, my Dad, and I and at least two other pilots who are coming from NH, and working on more. They are confirmed because they already booked rooms with their families.

Sebastien, Bummer! Was looking forward to seeing you there. As far as Westport goes, we were invited to fly at Butler Aero Modelers Society (BAMS) in Western PA that weekend. Their banner along with the GMRF banner is running on the homepage of FG... Check it out!

Looks like we may break 80 pilots this year.....OH BOY !!!!!! It's gona be a great time as it has been the last two years. We have only began to scratch the surface of what our club is capable of. This venue has unlimited space, we could hold a event of mega perportions. I kinda like it around 80, it's more personal Everyone that attends is a freind, and someone who always returns. I like repeat pilots

Just a suggestion. Do we need to keep our spectators at such a distance from the pits? The flight line certainly. But maybe we should be more welcoming to people interested in our hobby. We deal with spectators every weekend with very little trouble. (people walking dogs on active runways excepted) most people respect canopies as personal boundaries. In past years we have held a very large distance between spectators and pilots. Perhapse thats for the best. I know the reflex response to my question will be safety concerns. First ask yourself if you really feel that way, or if you really would just rather not be bothered by spectators. I am not passionate about this, just presenting it for open discussion.

Generally, the canopy line is a dead line for spectators. Atleast from the large events I have attended, spectators were always allowed in the pit area.

Ultimately the CD has the final say. AMA does have recommendations for set backs for sanctioned events. This might be a good place to start.
