No Dude no control line. Two turns around and i get dizzy. I like to just fly around and try different things and see if i can do it again or if it was accidental.

Hotels:
Laquinta inn and suites with Watiki water park I-90 exit 61 10 min. from field
Ramada inn I-90 Exit 48 4 min. from field
I-90 Exit 59 8 min to 8 More Hotels

Forgive me, but I gotta ask. Are you really hosting a huckfest at the aces field? Is this the site? Not a domsdayer, just wondering how that would work? I mean with 35 names that would already eat the ass out of the parking lot.

FWIW:

The Chip is pretty much deader than dead. Flying in open tundra can really suck. Hog Heaven here in sturgis is DYIN to host this. RT Shaw is the polar opposite of ol Woody. Site is very nice. Full service rv hookups, plenty of acerage to get away, and a fully equipped general assembly area.

RT is about as solid as they get. He works at Sturgis Realty.

Just a friendly offer.

I gotta say I'm totally with Chad on this. Camping there would be super cool with hookups and close to the flightline (anything is closer than last year ), I was doubting the room available too. Last year there was alot of waiting to fly on Saturday which was fine, watching is cool too but with this many signed up we need SPACE!! I worry about the noise for the Aces after the fact,, these planes are going to piss alot of neighbors off flying all week and weekend.

I had coffee with RT this morning.

Pull the trigger and he's in. Josh and I had a long conversation late last night. He's planning on coming out sometime here soon to conduct a site survey and meet with the boss.

I hope I didn't sound like I was jumping in here and trying to take over. Not my intention at all and I apologize if I sounded that way. These "fests" are my annual "escape" from the shop and it seems like last year went really well. I think this year can be even better with this venue. I know RT fairly well (we have coffee together a few times a week). He's a rock solid guy and about as nice as they come. PLUS he has a sort of "passive" interest in RC. He dabbled years ago and we've talked off/on about putting him together a 50cc size electric.

HINT HINT. . .

If anyone would be interested in kicking in a few bucks for an ARF I think it would go a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to giving him some incentive.

Regardless he's on board and very eager to host this.

Josh, gimme a call when you can and I'll give you his number. I asked him if it was ok this am.

Troy, your still a hooker. Gotta come and see the new shop this year. Come out a day early if you can.

Putting the finishing touches on a 50 BMG right now for a guy up in MT. We shot this into my new bullet trap last week. KABOOM! What a sound inside the shop! Stopped it though. Pretty cool.

31lbs worth of pissed off!

Late night for me. Putting the finishing touches on this bugger:

International Palma Rifle.

Nesika Bay Precision Model K action
Grunig/Elmiger FT300 2 stage trigger
Brux Medium Palma Contour barrel chambered in 308 Gamboa
My adjustable hardware and accessory rail
Paint is PPG Dodge Viper Red with a nice fat layer of clear and LOTS of wet sanding and buffing!

Owner is out in San Diego and hopes to try out for the US Palma Team.

Fun stuff!

Here's how it looked last week:

After paint/final assembly:

Palma (true international Palma/Fullbore anyway) calls for 155 grain bullet weight. 1:12 or 1:13 works best for these in 30 caliber.

Wait till you see the 50 after its been painted. Got her primed/sealed last night. Hope to shoot the base on tomorrow. We'll be applying our "Alpine Digital" to this one.

Should be sexy. (hope so anyway)

Here's the latest Kalli did. (Fiance) This is our "Digital Sage" pattern.

All the stencils are cut in house. Proprietary pattern.
