Well, as the title says, this will be the home of my scratch build thread for aUltra Light 55% Monocoupe 110 special. This will be a SLOW build as my time is limited and everything is being designed in CAD and for production. I will be laser cutting as much of the "kit" as possble and tweaking the design as I go if needed. This has been a work in progress for quite some time now (right Mode-1) and countless hours have been invested in the design. Though the vision for the plane was mine, Mode-1 has been helping with the design shortly after the begining. Here are the current Specs;
55% Clipped Wing Monocoupe 110 Special
150" wingspan
130" length
120-150cc Power
Cannister Ready
Goal weight is 35-40 Lbs (hopefully lighter)
Why a Monocoupe???
Easy answer, Why not? There is something about the lines of a Monocoupe that just draws me to it. I have had this affliction with the Monocoupes for quite some time now.
Construction:
all construction will be built up. As of now there will be no foam used.
I will be starting the tail feathers hopefully in about a week or so.

Joking aside its nice to see different models out there at the field instead of the usual ones. I've built several unusual creations and at the time I was uncertain as to whether they where a good idea but once completed I knew I had done right. I think many ppl enjoy seeing a different project come together. You can see this better the first time you show up at the club and a crowd appears from nowhere asking a hundred questions. Does feel good.

Here's the one I would like to do someday, its got good history and I happen to use Butch as my nickname.

I'm in.. I love these projects. Maybe one day I will have the balls and the talent it takes to even try..
