Re: BoneDoc's 3D Clinic: Snap-to-Hover

Hey nice work Josh. Coincidently I have been wanting to do this manuever recently. Now that I have watched your video I have a good idea how to. I noticed on two of your manuevers you seem to go to almost full "right" rudder near the end of the snap (momentarily). It looks like a key part of the manuever. Is this to get it to stop snapping to setup for the hover? Am I seeing this correctly?

Re: BoneDoc's 3D Clinic: Snap-to-Hover

I was probably trying to compensate for the left rudder I use to start the snap. Since you're in a deep stall, your recovery is not going to be as crisp as a regular snap.

In a regular snap, stopping the stick movements usually will stop the snap. In a deep snap like you'd use for the snap to hover maneuver, you'd almost have to pulse the throttle along with adding a little opposite rudder to correct.

It's one of those things that you'd have to try and play around with in order to get it right. It's going to be a little different with different aircraft as well.

Awesome Joe. When you guys practice this, try shooting a video if you have a cameraman (ie fellow flyer) around. I'd love to see how you guys are progressing. Also if there are any issues that I haven't raise, please post it so we can clarify the subject.

... just remember to be several mistakes high on the first couple .

It will be nice if FG can compile all these 3D training videos into a special archive so that it's easy to find all of them in one place

Re: BoneDoc's 3D Clinic: Snap-to-Hover

Sweet! Congrats!

As for now, I have the master list on RCG

If FG wants to make another provision for the master list, I'd be more than happy to do so.
