Just Soloed Full Scale

Hey guys, I just thought I would mention to you guys that I Soloed a full Scale Piper Cherokee 140 today for the first time. I cant wait to finish up my license. The weather was good, little gloomy, and a little bumpy but it was alright. Had a good time. Heres a picture. For those of you that dont know. I am 17 and hope to have my license in a month or two.

The plane is a N5592F Piper Cherokee 140 flown at Wood County Airport 1G0

Talk to you later.

Jamie

Hey Jamie,

Congratulations !!!!!!

Just a courious question though. Why did you solo in a Cherokee, instead of something with a high wing ?

Congrats Again. There go the little planes.......

Thanks!
I have more experience in a cherokee, also availablity. The club I am in just has 2 cherokee's. I actually think the Cherokee's fly nicer.

Cool !! Was just curious.

But now....I not only have to watch the road when I am driving out your way...I have to watch the skies to see who is flying over my head.

Keep the wings level, and many happy safe flying hours to you.

The Cherokee 140 is so easy to fly, no different than a Cessna, they call the wing "The Hershey Bar"

Congratz to Jamie!!!

IMO, very different from a Cessna, at least on touchdown. The low wing enters the ground effect sooner, therefore you must fly the aircraft down the last few feet to the ground. The first time I flew one after much time in high-wingers, I was glad I was landing on a loooong runway!

I still have my sweat-stained and tail-less shirt from my solo(s). Recorded on the detatched tail are three solos: J-3, C150 and C172... all on the same morning.

Welcome to the club!!! Did you know it was coming or was it a suprise. Rember when I did mine I was out doing touch and go's with the instructor and he was like pull over here so I can get out, and I'm like ahhhh what. It's a good feeling though when you do it.

When I soloed my big 215 lbs ass in a C150, it sure climbed better with only me in it he he.

Congrats, it feels very nice being alone in the plane, and the feeling of accomplishment is very present.
