Krill 41% Extra 330SC Build

Well the nice guys from Krill delivered this baby to me. Build will take a little time as I am pretty busy this month, but have made a start.

Setup will be:
DLE170
Zimmerman Canisters
4 x Futaba BLS157 HV on the stabs
2 x Futaba BLS157 HV on the Rudder
4 x MKS767 HV on each wing - yes 4 apparently required to save the gear trains!!!
Powerbox Champion RRS
2 x Futaba 14CH Rxs
2 x 4500Mah 2S Lipos

Using 1.75" arms on the stabs and getting about 48-50deg of movement.

Man the production model looks awesome! Does that rudder servo tray come with the plane?
If so that is awesome!

Amazingly beautiful plane! As for the set-up, do you have lots of experience with BLS /MKS servos in giant scale planes?

Because that's what I had in my H9 Sukhoi, which now has my old DA150.

Have been using them on the stabs and rudder of my EF YAK, to replace some Hitec 7955s. So far they have been excellent and just as good as a 7955 without some of the reported issue they have had

The BLS servos are Futaba......

Sub'ed. Seems like a lot of high powered servos.

Congrats, what a great looking plane. Krill has really "raised the bar" for composite plane companies

I agree, but talking to Ivo at Krill, he recommends having that number to avoid stripping the gears. I was initially hoping to get away with 3 in the wing and might even try that to start with. Probably could just have one on each stab, but they are big surfaces so an extra won't hurt. I know from previous Krill owners that they have a tendency to eat gear trains?

Don't know how this compares to other planes, but here are a couple of photos of the ailerons to show their size. The movement available is about 50degs and I haven't removed any material from the hinge slots. With a 1.75" arm and the lower control arm hold, I am getting around 45degs with my ATVs at 130. For my limited 3D that will be plenty!!!

I think the difference is all in the counterbalances. I tried to run a single 8911HV on the stab of my Krill Sukhoi and with a 1.5 arm, got flutter, so went to 2 servos. My comp arf 330SC has a bigger counter balance and has been very happy with a single 8911HV (1.5" arm). Same story on the ailerons. The comp arf measure 8.5" @ the root and 9" @ the tip including the comparatively bigger counter balance and again have 130 flights on 2 servos per aileron with no issues.
