Re: How to perform Rollingharrier
My theory - you watch the tail. The following is true no matter which direction you're rolling. In the sim, when you're looking at the plane from "chase" point of view, your rudder inputs are these:
when L elevator is pointed straight up, rudder is at far L extreme of deflection you need. when R elevator is pointed straight up, rudder is at far R extreme of deflection you need. The same is basically true of the elevator: When the rudder is pointing up, the elevator is at the far up extreme of deflection you need. When the rudder is pointing dn, the elevator is at the far dn extreme of deflection you need. You're constantly oscillating the sticks up and down. In general, when one stick is at max deflection, the other stick is centered. Practice the stick moves on their own without looking at the sim. It's like playing drums, just harder. The amount of deflection needed is dependent only on airspeed. The faster you're going, the less deflection. The speed of stick movement is dependent only on roll rate, as should be obvious from the above. |

LOL... You may be right about that. And my hands really do shake after most of my flights, and just normal flying around stuff, loops & rolls, hammerhead turns, that sort of thing. I'm only a hardcore 3D'er in my mind, although I'd like to be in real life :-)
