Dent on headrest

Hello, Brought the fuse in the house trying to be careful and I hit the headrest (couple of nicks about a half inch plus) on the door jam.
Would be hard to take off, fill and recover. Covered with solartex, and the headrest is solid sanded down wood. Any ideas?????? Thanks to all.

The method that has worked for me was to inject the dent with a bit of water with a syringe, then go over the spot with a covering iron. Repeat as necessary.

Yep that will work. Use insulin needles, smallest you will find.

That will work very well, instead of water try Windex with ammonia, that will allow the wood to swell even more.

My wife brought me 2 home from where she works and when I pushed the plunger all the way in the needle disappeared , I thought it had blown off the end so I looked all over my garage for the needle , never could find it . so I got the second one out and pushed the plunger in very slow , when it bottomed out the needle was gone again . I finally figured out the needle has a spring on it and retracted back into the syringe after 1 use . So be sure and tell them you want the ones that don't do that

I've used the syringe and water method to get out some fairly large dents. Works like magic.

Get the ones for insulin. They have a tiny needle and don't make noticeable holes in the covering.

Thanks to all. May be silly ?, do I squirt the water just under the covering or make sure the needle penatrates the wood.
Again THANKS to all.

Last ?'s, Would that be a 50/50 mix of windex to ammonia, and just wait for the wood to swell? Thanks again.
