YIHAAA !

It flew
Handles like a big teddy bear, very, very slow on landings, less than walking speed in 6 m/s wind!
Absolutely no problem!

Re: Pitts S12 by CompArf BUILD

Hello together,

i live in bavarian in germany. Last week i got my Pitts S12 and now i start to build the plane.I will design ist leike teh Pitts Ti12 Titanium. My question: fly anybody a 3W210 B2 engine in the pitts? This engine works in my my "HONDA" 3,04m Pitts. It works very well, but the vibrations are sure higher than an 170ccm engine. What are your experiences with the 210 ccm 3W in the Pitts S12? How high is the weight with thos combination?

I dont know if this helps you, I had a 3W 212 B4 on it and switched to DA 200, much better performance and reliability with the 200

I everybody,
I just started my Pitts S12 with 3W 170 XI B2. I believe I will purchase tuned pipes and mufflers from KS any other suggestion ???
I am also studying the arrangement for Royal, receivers, tanks, smoke pump so any photo will help a lot in order to save time and make mistakes.
Thank you and regards from Rome

I ran my compy Pitts on a 3w170CS with KS 1090 pipes. The combination worked well for me and power was spot on.

I sold the plane and it's now in Canada. Unfortunately all the pictures of it were on my old computer when it blew up so I don't have any internal pictures. I didn't box the pipes in though - I ran them straight back and used 3w comfort mounts to support them http://www.aircraftinternational.com...6/Default.aspx

I had to use 14" headers to get the response I wanted. The rudder servos were pretty much mounted in the stock position but I did modify things to mount the elevator servos in the tail.

I still have a couple of external pics of the plane.

I've run a few installations with pipes in composite planes and I've never boxed the pipes in - and I've never had a problem. I also know at least 2 other guys with the same plane, both running pipes without covering them.

I managed to find a picture of my pipe install during the build on another forum.

The 3W 210 seem like it would be at home in this plane; has anyone tried it. One of the posters said they have a lot of vibration.

The 4 cylinder engines would be awesome, That would be the ultimate setup imho, but probably too much weight?..I dunno, anyone here have experience with the 4cyl? Move the elevator and rudder servos to the rear?
Then, the motor dome would have to be cut back, correct?

Mine had a 3W 212 and now has a DA200, I have a Seiko servo for the rudder, behind the fuel tank.
The plane has awesome performance with the 200 and that set up, it has 2 servos on each elevator half..
