That should do the trick. I just came in from finishing a tank, but I will be getting one of those for sure.

See.....just a few days after my 'recap' and we get yet another good link to add to my list.

Now if I could only get in contact with a 'moderator' we could get the 'sticky' posted.
{I need to edit & re-post in a new thread, then they do their magic}

I fired off a 'PM' to Sleepy, but no response yet.
Anybody know of other FG Staff with the magic wand to help on this?

Both the single barb and double barb PSP fittings have a hex shape to them near the top on the inside of the barb with the thread. You don't see it but it's there. The hex shape allows a 1/8" allen wrench to be inserted into the barb in order to hold it steady while a 7/16th wrench can be used to tighten the nut (see picture). This eliminates the need for special tools to securely tighten the fittings.

I originally didn't know about this and created my own method for installing the fittings using strings, forceps, etc. I think there is a picture on PSP's website that shows this. Anyway, if you're like me and jump into things before reading about them you may have missed this important design feature about the PSP fittings.

"O" ring on the inside, nylon washer and nut on the outside,
When sufficiantly tight, I put a drop of medium ca on the nut and exposed threads and smear it around the nut/thread area with a tooth pick, this stops the nut backing off (if it ever does) secondary precaution -

Apologies abound. Not much explanation given about the inside hex of the nipples for tightening other than the two pics on the PSP website. As Dean has shown a 1/8" allen wrench will drop in about 3/16" down inside the tip of the threaded end of the barbed fitting to hold while tightening the bigger nut. This way no pliers are needed inside the tank. Hope these posts explain it better.

Scott,

What flying field do you fly at in Ft. Wayne? My wife shops there all the time. Thought I might bring my plane this summer and fly with you.

Sounds good Nathan, I fly exclusively at the PSP/Huntington County Modelers field in Uniondale in Wells County which is about 20 miles south of southern Ft. Wayne. The Ft. Wayne club is about the same distance from my house for me but the guys at the Huntington club are much more agreeable if you know what I mean. Let me know if you decide to come down and I will get proper directions for you...
