This is the detail pics I took last night, looks like one wing bolt snap off, the other side gutted out.
OUCH. like you said it's could be a combination of failures.

in the other hand, I tried this maneuver on my H9 Extra 104 and other planes so many times without any problem until yesterday (knock on the wood)

The centrifugal force pulling the wings off the tube just doesn't seem strong enough to do that. Did the wing bolt snap on one side and the root rib break out of the other or what?

Just curious... I've being doing high-speed/high-rate rolls for a long time and have never seen any structural consequences. The loads just shouldn't be that high.

Man, sorry to see that. Looks like the wing/wing tube oscilated before breaking? What ail servos? any chance it fluttered?

I have to take a look at my 71" elec Slick, picked it up for another flight at Nall and noticed one wing panel felt loose even though wing bolts are tight. Not sure what did it, but I did some high speed knife edge snaps, back to knife edge and the typical knife edge spins and pop tops. Parked it and haven't had a chance to inspect it yet.

Hitec 7985MG for aieron. no flutter.
only thing I remember is a big BANG... and both wing shoot out at the 'same time'. Quite a show.

jackrc, sorry to see that. That's amazing how that Edge exploded. That really sucks.
I have heard other stories on rc groups of the Edge doing this. My 72'' 330sc with a DLE30 on it get's flown hard and has been strong. My Edge is on electric.
Hope you get it sorted out.

Hi Cory, Thanks for the info.

my 72" 330sc never had any problem until I got a new wing and the new wing snap on the first pop-top!! It was on RCG awhile back and people blame me not putting epoxy in the new wing ?! I managed to fix that 72" 330sc and flew with the old wing like crazy since then, never have any problem again! (knock on the wood)

So what've we learned from here?
1. the 3DHS 74" Edge 540 is mainly designed for electric.
2. the newer generation 3DHS product is lighter but yet weaker.

I had a wing on my 72" extra come apart exiting a KE spin on its 10th flight. It's set up as an electric with a hacker A50-16l on 8s. It looked like there was no glue holding the tube in place in the wing.

I can't agree more, I even show the wings to Rob at ADC hobby store when I first got the 74" in the box. He said the glue they use is different now and it should hold up just fine.. hmn..

I talked to Rob at ADC and he can't give me any warranty because this is already a free plane from previous 72" wing failure crash, LOL.

Jack, Why don't you call 3DHS and give them a chance to work out the situation? Seems more productive than plastering it here before even giving them that opportunity.

Hi doc, that's actually the first thing I did.
Rob said there is nothing he can do because this is already a free plane from previous 72" wing failure.

but thanks for the suggestion.

my post was going to point out the ADC is not the same as 3DHS.... Bonedoc was suggesting you contact 3DHS direct.

ding ding ding. It seems you have some vendetta against 3DHS now. Either way, sorry for the loss.
