DLE35 above 6v?

Hey all!

New to gas; and all I've been reading says that above 6 volts is a big no-no for electronic ignition. However, the ignition module on my DLE35RA suggests it can go much higher. I don't have it handy but, it says upwards of 8v. So, just to clarify; that should mean I'm "a-ok" to run my 6.6v LiFE batteries without a regulator?

Yes, you're fine. What you were reading applies only to the earliest versions of DLE (Rcexl) ignitions.

Thanks! Actually, I found my answer a few threads below (yikes!). I used the search function but like many forums; unless you know the exact string of keywords for a specific thread; it's tough to find anything. Searching terms like "ignition voltage" only revealed mounds of warnings not to exceed 6 volts. But a few threads down, when I was browsing, I found a thread discussing it.

Thanks for the reply! I appreciate it!

Know what you mean first hand. It's enough to make you feel like you're too stupid to ask the right question! Some of the site search engines just suck, or maybe it is just me. In either case, often I find myself further ahead using Google. -Al

The FG search is horrible. Much easier to just use Google and go to the FG sites listed there. It seems most of the individual site searches worked much better a few years back.

Search nazis seemed to have calmed down these days, and yes I agree the search function on most forum sites is rubbish!
