Pilot-RC = Extra 330LX 92"

From Pilot RC

This is not just the 330SC with an elongated canopy, this is an entirely new model. With new profiles, new shapes, new surface sizes and best of all, and in response to what our clients have been asking for, this thing is big on Carbon!

When we say it is big on carbon, I mean just lift the lid and all you see is black! The result as you can imagine is a super strong and reliable model, and you can really feel the difference once in the air.

As a new model it also had to have a new color scheme or two, so that is exactly what we did. Currently being offered in a total of 8 schemes, we are sure that at least one will catch your eye!

We are super happy with this new model, the flying speaks for itself, so we simply can't wait to see what you are all able to do with yours!

It looks cool, but how much does it really help? The new canopy latches look great!

Antenna placement is going to be critical inside these mega/ultra carbon fuselages.

Outside of FULL carbon fuses, I've never experienced any need to do anything special with antennas. These types of frames are a far friendlier RF environment than inside a carbon sailplane or DLG.

true, but I wouldn't place the receiver anywhere near that center section where the carbon plate is.

I still say precaution should be taken when installing the receiver, but that's just how I would go about it.

That's a lot of carbon fiber. If it were just a few plates and some stringers then maybe not a big deal, but it looks like they made very good use of the laminates throughout the structure...should add a noticeable amount of rigidity and durability to the airframe. Just as in the second to last photo I too have been using a carbon plate across the bottom where the landing gear goes for years....it helps keep the gear from flexing upward on hard landings and putting creases or crack in the fuse sides.
Nice work, Pilot RC !

A dipole at 2.45GHz is 61.22 mm from end to end, and each of the two halves is 30.61 mm. So as long as the RF signal can get through 31mm holes it will work.

I do like the carbon on the vertical motor box plates, around the landing gear and the stringers. Basically where things break at. For me the landing gear area is the week point on most of these arfs (any brand).

You guys are on your own with the carbon / RF dilemma.

True! And the choices per plane! I can't imagine the amount of planes it takes to stock the choices offered in the quantities.
