hey guys I really did it good this time, all the guys at the flying field fly the F radio and they are always Bit,.ing at me about my Hitec, so today I tried something that i did not think was possible and I have a T8UAF i got in a trade deal and I thought hmmmmm I wonder if a Hitec Module will plug into it well It does, its upside down but it plugs in and guess what it WORKS.
maybe hitec does make futaba. Well I did a range check and dang it worked like a charm, so guess what it went to the flying field with me today and I brought out a foamy and flew the heck out of it then I flew a glow engine plane smith miniplane with it and dang if it didnt work just great, not to fond of the programming on the radio takes about 5 times longer to do anything then you got to press 2 buttons at the same time and hold one and blink with your right eye and stand on your tip toes to get it locked in. BUT I WAS THE HIT OF THE FIELD TODAY. They all asked me hey Ron it looks like finally
you you listen to us and got yourself a good radio and I turned to them and said yep sure did got me one of them HITEC Futaba radio's and that is the only reason i am flying it. Oh boy they were PISSED I can not believe you did that and I said well I wanted to fly as my A9 is almost full., they never have heard such a thing.
So all it all it was a GREAT DAY FLYING.

That's great to hear that it will work in the 8U series. I have an 8UAFS that the Hitec replaced. Guess I'll hang onto it now for a spare.

there ya go, leave it to Alan. Thank you Alan for posting. One thing I did notice on the T8uaf is that the module fits upside down and it fits but does not snap into place, so I just used a piece of the good duct tape to hold in place. But it seems to work great.

I bought a module for my Futaba 8UAFS when they first came out.
The module snaps in place and would never fall out.
Buy the way....this is a good radio with the Spectra module. It is my back up for the A9.

Ya I'm still not positive its just our field as a member at the club on the weekend told me a fellow pilot with the A9 on GS was getting a lot of glitches too apparently. Same thing at our club, I'm only one of many A9 owners who get the glitches.

All I know is this weekend I had no issues what-so-ever. I think I'm still going to return my module to hitec this winter and see. If no go, XPS it is.
Hi Everyone. It's winter and it's been quiet. I put my A9 on the shelf last year and it's been there ever since. Couldn't trust it anymore. So what's the verdict these days on any root cause? Did the v2.02 (is that the latest?) cause all the glitching (or worse) to finally go away once and for all? Is anyone with that SW version still experiencing the same old issues?

luckymacy,
I felt the same way you did after losing 3 planes everyone thought i was crazy still flying this radio, well you know as well as I do, they all have had there problems so I love the radio so much I was willing to hang tough and see what happens, once i got the upgrade and the new module I have not had a problem sense, contact Mike and see what he can do for you if anything, but that was my change and everything has been AOK.
