hi there guys, is there any difference in performance between this 2 options?. I have 2 xoar propellers in 22x8 and i wondering if there is a difference that we can see on the engine and airplane performance.

The Xoar laminated props are stiff as a board, and light. They don't flex as easy as the beechwood props. On the downside, the beachwood props will usually take a minor prop strike... the laminated props are more like a CF prop.. one strike can ruin them.

All in all.. I like the Xoar 22x8 better than anything on a 50cc plane. Powerful, quite and nice looking.

interesting...right now im running beechwood ones...but got one laminated.

The laminated will likely pull harder and turn a little lower RPMs because it's a more efficient prop. I run the beech wood now and really like them but want to try a laminated next time I order one.

Laminated are quite a bit stiffer and should be more consistant.

As good as laminated props are, there is nothing wrong with a good Beach wood prop guys.

in properties laminated wood closes the gap between self wood (block cut) and carbon. Self wood props do tend to slightly distort when the wood dries or takes up moisture. Laminated wood does so much less, and carbon not at all.
Carbon props also can be made with thinner blades, and can be more silent in operation.

Well, it really worth to invest in a carbon propeller? i have already making that question on my mind everyday to get mej or pt CF propeller.

If you break alot of props no. Usually if you have a prop strike with cf you have a good chance of doing damage to the engine. Cf is more consistaint though.

Some laminates are heavier as well. I had a custom made xoar 32x10 which was heavy as a brick. On the other hand they are very stiff, stiffer even than carbon. In small sizes the weight difference is also not as much.

In terms of considering PT versus Mej props.... I tried a couple of PT props when I couldn't get a Mej quickly... but I wasn't that happy with them. I'm no expert on props, but I just didn't feel that they pulled with the authority that the Mej CF props do.

yeah i have seen threads about Mej is better. Well i never damage a propeller lol, im still with the one that i used on the brake in. but i dont know if invest $58 usd plus shipping worth it.

If you're happy with the way your plane flys today... wood is good!
