I don't know why some people feel the need for even more voltage. I mean, three 5955's, or 8711's on one aileron is like 52LBS of torque! Thats enough to lift a small child!

its speed im after for 3/4 snaps. I know my thumbs can beat .15 now (years of video games i guess) .11 maybe my limit, thats what im after. Ive watched my onboard volts displays never gone below 7.4 volts running. they start 8v

So I've got a question. If you had a plane with 3 jr servos per wing and you use the equalizer 10 to match servos, wouldn't you have to hook up six wires everytime you put the wings on?

Don't you have to plug in at least one wire everytime you install a wing? 2 more per wing is not that bothersome. I have two per wing on my 260 and plugging them into the power expander is really not a problem with me. You could always have 6 inch extensions coming off the power expander, but thats just more plugs, more current drain, more room for failure.

You could also just take it down to two connections. You could split out all the power supply and ground wires into a single connection and then use a matched set of keyed connectors for the signal wires. Then there would be no chance for confusion about which servo wire goes where. I am also looking at several automotive style sealed connectors that have five terminals in them for my project. They are used in components that run at a steady 10-20 amps and are self locking at connection. This would make it simple and secure I would think.

Thoughts?

Re: New Equalizer 10 Announced

Just wonderd because I see a lot of guys with a Matchbox embedded in the end of the wing and one wire going to the receiver. I know this is probably not good with amps being drawn thru the one wire

SLC you are correct.

Think of the Power Expander as a relay. You have nice Dean plugs for the power feed in, so why would you want to compromise the power feed to the servo by using 1 lead through a std connecter. This would introduce a voltage drop to the servo. For wing hook ups a lot of guys use the Multiplex plug.

Re: New Equalizer 10 Announced

im guessin at Toledo it will be unveiled, maybe even early February. this will be sweet for the Hitec 5955's but i might be scared to run them at 8.4 volts?
