*Mintor 33cc & 38cc Gasser*

I'm in the market for a gasser for my new Rascal 110 that hopefully will be coming in around Christmas. I had the original Rascal 110 with a G26 spinning a XOAR 18X8 prop and it just didn't have enough power to hover the Rascal. I have been looking at the DLE 30 which I had on a H9 Taylorcraft and the Mintor 33cc and the 38cc at TopDawag RC. The Italian made engines are some of the finest but I can't find much about these engines. Just looking for some input. Anyone running one of these engines?

I`ve actually just started my 38cc Mintor today, replacing a RCGF32cc on a 78" EF Extra. Vid -

First startup - New Mintor38cc w.standard muffler (1 min 56 sec)

Planning on running the 110cc on my upcoming 104" EF Extra, looks like really god engines - should be interesting.

What makes the Mintor engines so good? Im curious, and might consider them. Can we get wraparounds for them?

Was looking real close at the same combo lately, it's on my short list...

I don't think so yet Opie. The nice thing about these engines is that their all machined and, they seem to be running well and, they do not come from China. The pricing seems to be very reasonable by the USA distributor (Top Dawg Aviation) and, Dennis (AKA: superstock) that works there, is an active member here on FG and seems to be helping people out nicely.

So is the official word from Sig about the return of the Rascal 110 by the end of the year really true...???

The only reason the single mintor engines didn't catch on emediately, was because the 1st edition had a very Odd
carb. configuration... that made it difficult to install for most instalations....

These revised engines have been fitted with the most common setup, with a rearward carb...

If I were to need a 30cc engine... this would be it...
Complete CNC'd engine case, and head....What's not to like about that ??
I believe the weight is comparable to others in this cc sized class....

Actually, we weighed the Mintor and DLE30 on a kitchen weight, not 100% accurate - but the Mintor, with it`s 7-8cc extra displacement weighted only 60grams more than the DLE30.

And the finnish and quality-impression is just a whole other world. Pricing is also good.

Really, really nice engine - just run it about a half a tank and it looks really promising. Happy so far! :-)

I got an email from Blaine Austin at Top Dawg and he said the Mintor 38cc should be back in stock in a couple weeks.

Does Mintor plan to produce a smaller size, like 20cc?

the answer is NO!
they are working about a new 50cc engine for the next year, of course cheaper than the OS.55 and similar overpriced engines.
