Listen Pal,
I'm the type to build as per instructions. It is there job to build, test and print the manuals correctly. Otherwise, you have a lot of pissed off customers. Don't you agree????

I agree with that statement. We don't pay money to figure it out on our own on these things and hope for the best. I would say on the wing tube or in front of it typically gets you going for CG on most of these airframes.

Actually you do pay to figure it out on your own. That is why they call them ARFs. We are tying to get Lou in the air and have a successful flight. He is upset. Okay, now lets move on. Try 6-1/8 or the wing tube. If lou is really unsure, he should give Mike a call at milehigh.

I dont think the customer should have to figure the CG of all things. I understand the ARF concept, but even kits come with a CG location. Anyways, good luck.

Steve, No one is questioning what your manual states. We all are just saying that there is 3 different measurements for the CG on this plane. Yours, mine and the website.

I do not agree with this, most manuals are very conservative with the CG, they are for the masses, and are also for ass covering, I do not think I have ever flown a plane with the recommended CG. I would start with the manual setting and they adjust from there.

Steve,
I have no problem finding the CG on my own, with a little trial and error. I am just questioning Gold Wing and what the heck is going on with 3 different CG locations. You would think by now someone would have picked up on this and had there distributors relay it to there customers. I would think knowing the right CG would help some new flyer that is breaking into the 50cc size airplanes. Would hate to hear someones plane going in due to a CG problem with all the other things that could go wrong.

If you would just scroll back a little, there are 3 different measurements for the CG on this plane. With the CG in my manual, I had to add 1 lb. of nose weight. That is the issue here.

By the way this liitle thread has really gone further then I thought it would.

I disagree with you I have had a 3 arfs and a couple kits and the recommended cg was dead on for IMAC and 3d for my taste + or - an half inch is most likely pilot preference two manuals for the same plane having an inch different in cg is a problem in my opinion and i understand they are different versions

and my opinion on the owner of this plane i would buy from a well known designer if it were my first large scale plane because they have a reputation of having there planes and manuals set up very nicely.(Mike McConnell, carden, Que Que, Tony russo....)
