What rx and ignition batteries are guys running on this?

i'm going with dle 35....

battery wise i'm thinking

1. 5200 mah or 2600 mah Duralite Li-Ion for Rx

2. 2600 mah Duralite Li-Ion for ignition or 1350 mah Thunder Power Lipo or 1900 mah Thunder Power lipo

I have dual 2100mah thunder power 2s Lipos plugged into a Spectrum Powersafe rx. I have a Tech Aero IBEC instead of a seperate ignition battery. This is probably overkill, but given the cost is not that much more than a standard receiver, especially after you figure in a good quality switch like a Badger or Wolverine.

Many guys do not use redundant batteries for planes this size. A single 5200 would be fine. I use about 300mah per flight with 7955 servos.

what a fantastic combo this is I love the vvrc on this bird.. Flew 4 tanks yesterday and the engine is breaking in nicely. Just did some rolling harrier and I swear it was wayyy easier than my smaller electric planes. Beautiful flies like an arrow. Am a happy camper

Is the DA35 shipping yet? I'm planning on the EFLITE power 180.

Reports are that it is now shipping to the first customers on the list. I put my name on it about a year ago. I do not think I will put it on my 78 though. I am pretty happy with the VVRC40. I think I will put it on another plane though.

Correct. Talked to Dave Johnson from DA at the Toledo Show and he told me at the moment they were ramping up production of the DA35 to greater quantity daily and were shipping engines daily as completed..
If I recall correctly he said they had a backlog of 1500+ engines to fill. At this point all engines go to those on the wait list.

hey guys,

what spinner are you guys running on the vvrc 40 and Vess 20B prop ? I have the single bolt adapter setup on the engine trying to hand start never worked and using a starter on the shaft becomes a hassle .... once started it works great though

I am running a TruTurn spinner on mine, I don't remember the size. I had a cheap carbon fiber on it for awhile that I got from Chief, it also worked with the starter.

After watching the video posted by VV I have not had to pull the starter out the last couple times at the field.

Where did you get the red standoffs?

The little 40 twin is ready to rock and fits like a glove! These 78"Extreme Flight Extras are built around a DLE30 so I have a feeling this isn't about to suck at all! BTW, I think I got my hands on a hot one as it already spins a 20x8 around 7600 rpm...

Looking at your pics------where is the air outlet for cooling??
