With just a few weeks to go I thought it about time to fire this thread up.
If you are planning on staying at Tin Can Bay over the weekend I would suggest you get in and book early as there will be the annual Seafood Festival on over the same weekend. This will be really good for the rest of the family as there will be heaps of stalls, helicopter rides, live entertainment and of coarse, feeding the Dolphins. I will need to book the Saturday night meal so need numbers asap. Please let me know, especially if you will have others with you. We have a 1000ft height extension for Friday,Saturday and Sunday. Food will be put on by the Club members which includes lunch on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. The town is only a few minutes drive for other food requirements. Camping - there is plenty of room for everybody, with hot water showers and a ladies and gents toilets. The Club is not able to charge a camping fee but will be asking for donations. With past comps, there has been a problem with models flying over the road so we will be swinging the flight line around to overcome this problem. If you are practicing on the Friday, be sure not to fly over the road to the south and over the Gun Club to the north. Sounds difficult but it's not at all. It's a beaut little Club and I'm sure you will enjoy flying there.

Congratulations to those who have moved up a class. Looking forward to seeing how you go at Tin Can Bay.

Hey Rookie, may have to pull out of this one. Work has started laying off people again and this time its not looking too good at all, have to take a forced week off the week after the comp if I still have my job. Going to hit Chris up and see if we can go in the one car to make it cheaper. Don't count me in for dinner mate will play it by year.

Lost my 260 on Sunday so may be flying the old Qui Que Yak again. Sad standing there watching it head for the deck. First model in 5 1/2 years, so not too bad i guess.

It looks like the stars have aligned at the last minute to allow me to make it up there. I'll camp at the field as well if that's ok.

Not sure what I'll do about dinner. Probably skip the dinner as well.

Count me in for camping not sure about dinner will confirm, it seems budget is on everyone's mind.

Not looking the best. Northerlys mean short landings or over the road landings and a slightly downhill runway. Showers and rain are forecast so we may need to squeeze flying in where we can. Suggest everybody brings a cover for their models as the shade roof is a bit of a siv. The strip dosen't puddle up as the ground is sandy and gently sloping, so if there is rain we will be able to fly straight after. As for the 260, well it's history now and I'm hoping that we might be able to test fly the new 3m Yak over the weekend. I'm really glad to see that Bones will be there ( although it's a shame that he wasn't able to make it to Tuscon ) as he has 2 new models and always adds plenty of interest to a comp. He has been helping me get my head around the 18mz which is quite different from the Multiplex. Thanks Aaron.

Hi, I have not been to a competition in Queensland for a while so I have a few questions for the CD....

What frequency am I on? Are we flying 2 flight lines? Can I go last because I need to go into town for breakfast, now can we change judges for unlimited because this roster says my caller is judging me, are we allowed to do beat ups?
