Think twice build once
When in doubt, asks questions
No question is ever stupid.....there are loads of people on here willing to help.
One question you shouldn't ask on here: what oil do I use?......lol

That's true. I ask Dennis at least 42 questions every day!

1) Read assembly manual completely. If you don't understand anything, ask questions here at FG.
2) Use quality hardware. ARF manufacturers most times supply inadequate hardware for planes that we fly, especially if we are flying 3d.
3) Don't cheapin on electronics, servo's, batteries, switch, etc. If is far better to error on the safe side then not.
4) Use the correct glues/epoxies as noted in the manual. I actually was maidening a 90 size p51 where the builder CA'ed on the elevator. Needless to say, 1 minute into the flight, the plane became a lawn dart.
5) Have a friend who you know is a good builder look over your shoulder or at least check out your plane before you fly. Having an expert flyermaiden your plane at your field is also a good option.

OH..I ALMOST FORGOT: A forgiving wife who understands your need to feed this addiction.

Have fun with your build.

First of all, welcome to FlyingGiants.

My advise to you is :

#1: Read manual completely ( and understand ) before building

#2: Don't skimp on an engine or servos, they are the most important. ( I know money is tight for people )

#3: No matter how stupid you think a question is, ask us here on Flying Giants. ( we're here to help )

Not sure of your money situation, but here is some more advise.

A quality name brand airframe flys better ( quality/ reputable manufacturer design an airframe, test it, and redsigned to make them right ).
Pick / use a proven engine and servo. ( a non running engine isn't flying and bad servos put you in the dirt ).
The better quality items make flying that much more enjoyable.

I buy good quality, reliable stuff for myself.
I see too many people have problems with ill-advised junk.
