NIce bam bam, how do u know where to cut or how do u cut the stabs and hinge them>>??

Everything was marked on the foam shucks and when I cut the stabs away for hinging it gets cut in the shucks. This keeps the elevators 90degrees to the blade so you get a straight cut. Also protects the elevator from getting scratched up. Will take some pics when I do it.
I will be setting the incidence before i cut them though!

Coming along very well Bam Bam. I just got done with my plans and cutting foam for my One Design and will throw up a build thread when I get the kit cut and start building. Your workmanship looks great for a first-timer. Really It's all about taking your time to make everything fit right and not just throwing things together to get a great result. Precision will actually make a faster build as I think you are finding out. Good work my friend!

i have set the stab incidence. have tried to take photos but they did not really turn out the way i wanted them to! (the photo's that is)

I started off using the hanger 9 digital incidence meter, but was not happy with the results as i found there is to much play in the plastics parts that atach to the stab. i also found that you can put the clamps on a few mm different every time! then i went to check it against a 2 meter level and found that it is not sensitive enough. it can show anything up to half a degree wrong! did not like this at all!

I rechecked the fuse for level with spirit levels then confirmed with a self leveling laser. the fuse is still dead nuts straigh since i made it which is good to know! then i set the stab incidence off the laser too! am very happy with the results!

Probably over kill, but i also fitted x1 dowel to the stabs so no play develops where the screws go.

oh yeah, the laser gives a vertical line too so you end up with a cross. i checked the right angles from the stab to the rudder to the other stab and everything is right where it should be!

If i can get the wings this good i'm sure she's gonna fly straight!

Better find a huge oven but I like your thinking!

what about a car oven????

I wonder if when you have finished covering it you put it in a car oven at about 50 degrees to stimulate a real hot day and get any wrinkles out? could be an idea! (or the glue is getting to me!)

Damn, Now my secret is out. Trim ,Iron covering to the wood and take it to work with me and put it in the paint booth on bake!!!! You figured out how I cover so fast now BamBam And all the while you thought I just stayed up real late everynite working.
