Sneak Peek!! Aeroworks 120cc Freestyle 260 ARF QB-L

I saw some cool photos coming out of AeroWorks so I got in touch with Rocco to find out more.
Here is what he had to say to FG:

We are excited to announce our release of the New Aeroworks 120cc Freestyle 260 ARF QB-L. The 120cc Freestyle 260 is the fourth aircraft in our Quick Build – Light (QB-L) Series. The 52” Electric, 30cc and 60cc Freestyle 260’s have received outstanding reviews for their light weight build quality and low wing loading that is perfect for stable 3D flight. The 60cc Freestyle 260 has been credited with First Place finish at the 2014 King 50. The 120cc Freestyle 260 features a new wing design and comes with an extensive hardware package that includes carbon fiber wing tube, carbon fiber stab tubes and the new double truss compound control horns. This aircraft boasts 55+ degrees of surface deflection on the ailerons and rudder with over 65+ degrees of deflection on the elevator!

Do you peek at your presents before Christmas? Do you always read the last chapter first of a novel? Do you eat your desert before your meal? Well then you will enjoy these pictures!

Our manufacturing facility sent us these photos of the New Aeroworks 120cc Freestyle 260 ARF QB-L during production. This aircraft is on schedule to leave the factory late this month. We are showing on our website an ETA of 12-31-14.

Pre-Order Special:
$100.00 Off the Retail Price if ordered before delivery.

You can find out more information about this exciting new aircraft along with flight videos and owner’s manual information at our new website:

That's super cool, I wish companys would show more of the actual build of these ARF's. You never know when we may find a trick or tip when building our own. Great pics!

IDK....this pictures just piss me off. Been in this hobby 25 years and I struggle to build that nicely. AW planes are really nicely done.

Yeah I'd pay to see an ARF assembly from start to finish
I always wondered how long it takes,3 hours I'd assume for a big plane

I'm surprised that I don't see any carbon fiber.

We are only offering the one color scheme for the first few productions of the 120cc Freestyle 260. I would like to offer another color scheme later next year.

Thank You

I cant wait to get my own. I flew the prototype 120cc freestyle 260, and it was everything you want out of an aerobatic plane. Plenty of throw in every surface. Flies super light. It literally flies like a foamy when your down on the deck doing slow 3D. Way to go Rocco, and AW staff!

I flew the same proto up here at the 2014 Throwdown. I've heard others describe planes flying like foamies before, but you bring that plane up to 6,000' ASL with a density altitude around 9K it was NEVER true. Until I flew the 120 freestyle that is!

My 110" Yak was the only thing that came close as far as controllability. This new AW plane is not only more docile, it's 2-3lbs lighter, and has almost zero coupling. In the nearly 10 years of flying giant scale, this is the best 100cc platform I have come across yet.

For you guys that have flown the prototype, or know one of the pilots who has one, what drop headers are they using? Placed my order Monday, and then emailed AW, but no response yet on that. I wanna get some headers coming for my GP123

We are using 70mm drop headers. We have just finished the manual and will have it posted on the site tomorrow.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,
Rocco
